The tapping sound that echoes, her feet swaying back and forth, her chin that rests on her hand, Sheen stares at her closed office door, waiting for Clark to come in.
She just messaged him that she finished what he asked her to do but the reply she only got was: "Okay."
It's been 10 minutes since he replied, usually, it only takes three minutes before he takes the papers from Sheen yet it seems like she has no choice but to give it to him personally.
After he tries to avoid any personal conversation with her, she suddenly felt afraid of talking to him like it's the first time she'll ever meet him.
But it does makes sense, the Clark she knew wasn't even true.
The Clark she was engaged to be is Cj's father which doesn't have any relatives.
She shakes her head trying to remove the thought that the Clark she loves is in a blurry state, that all must be a lie.
She stands up and took the folder which contains the papers he needs as she takes in a deep breath.
Her heart started pounding like crazy when she closed her door.
Somehow, the hallway to Clark's office seems like a long dangerous walk on fire, she suddenly felt hot as her face turn pale from nervousness.
"Clark," she knocks on the door.
She never has done this before, knocking on his office before entering, it's new to her which made her feel that she really is just an assistant.
"Come in," she heard Clark answered faintly.
She slowly opens the door as she clenches on the folder in her hands.
"I have the papers," she said and entered.
Clark is signing papers as usual but the way that he didn't even glance at her, pierced her heart.
He's just staring at the papers on his desk intently, "Put them on the table," he said.
Sheen gulps, every step she makes felt heavy as she nears his desk.
'Why are you like this?' she thought.
She suddenly remembered last night when she arrived at the condominium, she texted Clark: "I'm home. I checked on Cj, his nanny told me he's asleep." Yet the replied she got was a dry cold "Good."
It made her blood boil once again and unconciously smashed the papers on his desk, making a loud noise and jolting Clark.
Her eyes went wide as she looks at Clark, his flinched scared her, "I'm so sorry," she said and put her hands away from the desk.
Clark looks at her with a shocked expression, he seems to be angry since his pen has written a line on the paper when he got surprised.
'At least you're looking at me,' Sheen thought as she smiles at him apologetically, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. I thought the desk was... Really, I didn't mean it, please stop glaring at me," she said faintly.
That is not the looks she's longing for, his annoyed expression makes her chest feel even more painful.
"I'm leaving. Just text me when you need anything, I promise I won't bother you anymore," she said and turned around.
Clark looks away from her, "I will."
But before Sheen can even open the door, she took one last glance at Clark who's continuing his work, his eyes on the paper.
She bites her lips, as she suddenly felt her eyes ready to release her pain.
She opened the door and the moment she steps outside, her tears fell down.
Hurriedly, she ran to her office and locks the door and went to the couch and sits down.
"Calm down," she whispers to herself as she pats her chest, "It's fine," she assures herself.
"Let's talk later?" Sheen said and took the cushion on the couch and started punching it, "Your 'later' never came!" she said while grinding her teeth.
She punches the pillow harshly for a few minutes, venting her 'teary' anger.
"I hate you!" She said and threw the pillow on the wall as she catches her breath.
She leans on the couch and closed her eyes while breathing heavily, "I thought we're fine?" she whispered as her eyes went hot and tears started streaming once again.
She hates having conflicts with her close friends, especially if it's Clark, it will make her feel the worst feeling.
She bites her lips hard until it turned painful and sore.'
"When will 'later' arrive?" she whispered and closed her eyes, feeling her every heartbeat and her warm tears that stream down her cheeks turn cold as well as her painful lips.
After a few minutes of clearing her mind and focusing on what she feels in her body, she fell asleep.
She just woke up after four hours, the night has fallen unto them and her neck aching from her position.
She groans as she stretches her body.
"That was a good nap," she whispered and stands up.
It's exactly 9:30 P.M. and Clark, if he's not busy, must've gone home without her.
"Come on, let's talk," She heard someone outside said.
She went near the door and remembered she locked it earlier.
"I'm sorry I ignored you. I just want to sort my feelings, I told you that, right? I want to think about what should I do to make it up to you and I want to see what your perspective was when you found out about it," it's Clark's voice speaking. He sounds tired and sad at the same time.
Sheen creased her forehead, 'Has he been talking since earlier? How long?' she thought and was about to open the door when she heard keys opening her door.
For some stupid reason, it made her feel nervous, "God, what's happening?" she thought and she hurriedly went back to the couch and pretended that she's still asleep while sitting.
"Sheen, what happened? Why are you not answering me?" Clark worried opens the door, he saw the pillow on the floor and creased his forehead.
"Sheen?" he calls when he saw her sitting on the couch with her eyes closed, "Are you sleeping?" he asks and leans to see her closer.
He smiled while looking at eyes which he can clearly see her eyelids moving a bit, "Let's go home," he said and took her things from her desk then carried her.
Clark smirks as he nears the door, knowing what will happen.
"No!" Sheen exclaimed as she opens her eyes, panicking.
The last thing she wants is attention and if they walk out of the building looking like this, the other staff will surely notice them.
Clark tries to suppress his laughter from seeing Sheen hysterically scream 'no' while pushing him away with her troubled look.
"Put me down!" Sheen screamed, but Clark holds her tightly that if ever she pushes him, she'll likely fall on her back.
She just tries to look away from his gaze, blushing, "Put me down," she whispered.
Clark continued on walking and left the door wide open, "Close the door if you're leaving!" Sheen screamed while looking back at her office, thinking that Clark will put her down to close the door.
"Okay, Ma'am," Clark smirks and walks back to Sheen's office, he snorted while looking at Sheen's expecting face and went back to lock the doorknob.
Sheen looks at her, confused about what he's going to do.
Clark steps outside of the room and used his foot to pull the door to close it.
He didn't look at Sheen but his face is so proud that he got to close the door without putting her down.
Sheen stared at him with a blank expression, "Can you put me down NOW?" she irritatedly ordered.
Clark looks at her with a frown, "Do you hate me?" he asks.
Sheen looks away, "Put me down and we'll talk."
'After he avoided her, why does he act as if nothing happened? I am worried that he's angry at me or that he'll even leave me,' she thought as Clark slowly puts her down.
She took her bag from Clark and stands straight, throwing a glare at Clark.
"Now, what were you saying earlier? I was asleep, I only heard the last part," Sheen said with a slight blush on her face but she still wears her irritated face.
Clark sighs, "I said I am sorry for ignoring you for the whole day and even last night. I am sorry because I don't know what I should do. I know you're thinking that I am a liar and I can't take that, especially that you found it out from that sister of mine that which I said that she does not exist," he said faintly while looking at Sheen's face.
Sheen folded her arms, "I thought you'll never talk to me," she looks away with a pout, "You didn't even tell me that my book's published."
Clark looks at her shock, "I was... but you started avoiding me, remember? Anyways, are... we alright?"
"Yeah," Sheen smiled while looking at the city lights, "We are. Honestly, I am glad to meet someone like you, someone who's not afraid to tell his feelings," she said and then looks at Clark. "I am so sorry for trying to avoid you before I even tell you what's happening. I was just shocked. Also, I know I shouldn't be angry at you because I know it's your secret. And even though I am your fiancee, you can't just spill everything with a 'yes'."
Clark looks at her amazed, how can a person be so honest with her feelings? "No, you're my fiancee and you deserve to know everything about me. Please excuse my cover-up, Sheen. It will never happen again, I promise." Clark walks closer to Sheen and took her hand, "I promise, you'll never find another lie about me and I'll be the open book you can tell anything about and read everything written on me."
Sheen smiled and tip-toes, slowly closing her eyes as her soft lips embrace his.
Clark let her hands go and wrap his hand around Sheen's waist, supporting her as their kiss slowly become passionate as Sheen's hand wraps his neck while brushing his hair.
"Tomorrow before we go home, let's have a date," Clark whispers while hugging Sheen.
Sheen nods, "Okay, Sir. Noted. I will put that in your schedule," she giggles but her mind wandered far, 'Why can't I ask him that... he can't be manipulating people, or me,' she thought and hugs Clark tightly.
Mr. Rogers smiled widely as they get home with Sheen and Clark, after seeing Sheen with a frown last night he thought of giving her a printed photograph of the picture he took when she with Cj and Clark was sleeping soundly on the back seat. Sheen took it last night before she gets out of the car with a wide smile on her face.
"Hey, I'll give you something," Sheen said, "But check Cj first."
Clark smiles at her and went inside his space.
Sheen just stands outside and happily taps her shoes while waiting.
"He's asleep, let's go," Clark locks the door and went with Sheen.
"Well, last night, Mr. Rogers gave me this photo. It's so pretty so I decided to print another copy for you," Sheen opens her door and went inside.
Clark just follows her and is about to sit on the couch on the living room when Sheen looks at him, "Come with me," she gestured Clark to follow her as she climbs the stair.
Clark looks at her confused but he just follows with a slight blush on his face.
It only hit Sheen of what she is doing, inviting Clark in her room when she's already inside with Clark sitting on her bed as she pulls out a photo album from her drawer.
Her heart went playing drums while her mind paints all white all over as it goes blank.
"Isn't this the playground we used to play in before?" Clark asks while looking at the photo hanged on the wall in front of Sheen.
Sheen turns around only to find Clark in front of her, staring at the photo by the wall.
He's very close that Sheen almost got out of breath as her face turns red and hot.
Clark is intently staring at the photo which took him time to realize what's happening.
He looks down at Sheen, with a serious face from thinking about the past.
Sheen unconciously bit her lips while staring at Clark's face.
She likes it when he looks cute but her mind and heart goes crazy when he's seriously looking.
Clark smirks and put his arms around Sheen's waist and kisses her passionately, indulging himself deeper into Sheen's kisses.
Sheen slowly steps forward while Clark just follows and steps back until he found himself sitting on the bed while Sheen's leaning her face to him, with her left leg lying on the bed for support.
He smirks while kissing Sheen and took the photo album from her hand and threw it on the floor.
He pulls Sheen close to him, making her sit on his right leg, still kissing each other as he removes his suit jacket.
Sheen giggles, "Do you want help?" she asks and breaks the kiss.
Clark chuckles as threw his jacket on the floor, "Did you intend to invite me here for this, woman?"
Sheen unbutton his shirt with a smile, "No, Sir. I did not invite you for this, you threw the photo album on the floor and that is the reason why I did but since it's on the floor now, I shall change my target."
"I see. Then let me help you as well," he said and unbutton Sheen's blouse as well.
"Since you're not Cj's dad, does that mean that you never dated anyone? Or you're a sneaky little fox that kept her woman under covers?" Sheen asks while staring deeply into Clark's eyes.
"I have dated some women, Ma'am. But it only lasted on our first date. I never really liked women which makes me conclude that you may not be a woman?"
"Why is that, Sir? You're close to seeing my breast and you dare to tell me I am not a woman?"
"Well, I only thought of that because I like... no, I love you."
Sheen giggles and pulls her blouse off, as well as Clark and they both threw their clothes on the floor.
Sheen pushes Clark on the bed, making him lay down while she sits on top of him with a triumphant smile.
Clark smirks while his hand sits on her leg, "Why, Ma'am, you're acting very active today."
Sheen leans and kisses him while her hands are on his chest, "It's because my dear fiance ignored me today, Sir. I need someone who can fill this hole in my heart and here you are, you just followed a woman into her lair without questions."
"Can we stop talking this way, it's very... weird," He sits and carried Sheen to make her be the one to lay on the bed. "Are you sure about this?" Clark asks as he's about to unbuckle his belt.
Sheen looks at him confused, "About what?"
"What we're about to do."
"What are we going to do?"
Clark looks at her with a blank face and went to get his shirt and wore them while Sheen just slowly got what he's talking about.
Her face turned red and pulls her blanket to cover herself and curl on the bed.
She let herself go with the flow of her feelings that she forgot what may happen, even getting half-naked with Clark.
"Let's go back to the first reason why you invited me here, Sheen," Clark said.
Sheen felt Clark's hand on her head, "I'm so sorry, Clark. I wasn't thinking, I am really sorry. I can't do it now, I'm so sorry," she said and slowly pulls the blanket off her face.
"It's fine. I won't force you or anything. Come on, change your clothes to a more comfortable, that blouse is to fitted," Clark said as he took the photo album from the floor.
Sheen stands up and went to get clothes and change in her walk-in closet leaving Clark sitting on her bed.
"Oh god, she's so beautiful," Clark whispers and covers his red face while remembering Sheen half-naked.
"I am really sorry, Clark. We can talk tomorrow if you want to go home now," Sheen said as she gets out on her pajama and sits beside Clark.
"What home? I am home," Clark said and kissed Sheen's cheeks.
