CHAPTER 12: Unexpected

Sophie smiled at the sound of chirping birds. Her eyes opened to reveal her room and instantly, she froze. She had no recollection of how she got back to her room last night.

It was bad enough that she couldn't remember who she was, but now she was losing time as well.

She was at a loss and then all at once, the events from the previous night came rushing back.

"Theo."

Sophie uttered his name with familiarity and rushed out of bed in a panic. Her mind was so focused on her destination that she didn't stop to think about anything else.

Her footsteps pattered as she hurried down the passageway towards Theo's room. She needed answers that only he could provide.

Once at his door, she greeted the guards and their eyes went wide. Sophie's brows crinkled in confusion but she didn't question their unusual behavior. She knocked continuously and after a second, loud footsteps echoed from the other side of the door.

"I'm coming!" Theo shouted.
