Well There's A Surprise
Jack quickly ran over to the person and put his hand on their forehead, it was burning hot and a layer of sweat could easily be seen on their skin, the girl must have tried to hide from the sun in the slight shade in the corner but it wasn't enough and passed out.
Jack carefully picked her up and started running back down the stairs ignoring how much noise he was making and ran into the maths classroom and shuts the door behind him, he sets her down on one of the tables and jumps out the window landing hard on his left leg. Not hard enough to make him unable to run but enough to make running for a few minutes sore, he climbs back up into the classroom on the first floor where William is to see him still banging on the door.
"William! Problem, she's unconscious because of heat stroke! How are we going to get her down? I don't think we can just lower her down and the hall is crawling with zombies, a few jock zombies as well and they aren't fun."
William stops banging as soon as he hears Jack, after he finished talking William ran and started climbing up the rope back up to the maths classroom. He walked over to the table where the girl was sitting, she was small maybe 5,4 at most with short black hair possibly dyed and was wearing the standard uniform, except she had tracksuit bottoms instead of the usual skirt and tights. This wasn't surprising as if you had P.E after break you could stay partly dressed for the rest of the day, this included tracksuit bottoms. He gently picks her up and walks over to the window before jumping out, unlike Jack he landed equally on both legs and even with the added weight didn't injure himself or the girl. He didn't even wait for Jack to catch up to him he just kept running, but this time back to the quad. When he got to the quad he gently set the girl down on the grass beside it and started up the quad but left it running, thankfully most of the zombies on the school grounds were inside the building so leaving the quad on didn't attrack any unwanted attention. Jack sprinted over to William a minute later and stopped by the quad, William then got on and told Jack to pick up the girl and get on. Once he was on they started heading back to Annabel's house but slower than usual to make sure and not hurt the girl, who at this point was still unconscious and being held by Jack who was still completing covered in black zombie blood.
By the time they had it back to Annabel's house it was around dinner time, when they pulled into Annabel's house she was already outside waiting for them. As soon as she saw Jack holding the girl she rushed towards them picked up the girl and went inside shouting behind her.
"I'll take care of her, I've left you guys food on the table William you can eat straight away but I swear to God Jack if you don't shower before you eat and I see even 1 blood stain I'll kill you."
Jack and William just look at each other, shrugged and went inside. William started to eat while Jack went to find the shower without touching anything as he went, no one really wants to be killed cause of a stain.
After a few hours Annabel reappears as Jack is still trying to get the blood out of his hair, he showered, ate then realised that his hair is still stuck together with blood like glue. William is playing cards against Ban and is somehow losing, Annabel had to do look twice at that before talking to William.
"They are now asleep not unconscious, they woke up when I was cleaning them in the bath but quickly fell asleep due to exhaustion. So don't be doing anything stupid and let them sleep for a few hours at least. Now tell me, what the hell happened to Jack? Last time I checked your the manic who should be coming back covered in blood not him."
William told her all about how they managed to free the girl, well at least all he knew about so there was a gap from when Jack left the Maths classroom till he jumped down after getting the girl. Annabel listens but every so often her face slightly twists in discomfort but William doesn't notice as he is trying to figure out what he missed while he goes over everything. Jack comes down with a towel wrapped round him and his hair soaking wet just after William finishes telling Annabel everything but after William shakes his head at him again he groans and goes back upstairs into the shower.
"Poor Jack, he's been washing his hair for the past hour and a half yet still hasn't gotten all the blood out. At this rate he might have to cut his hair to get it all out, and I doubt he will want to do that. Any tips you could give him?"
"Hmm I'll go see what I can do for him but no promises, I dont exactly have much experience removing blood from hair, never mind zombie blood."
She gets up off the sofa and goes to help Jack, William lies down on the couch and tries to just relax after a long day. However Ban has other ideas, he jumps up on top of William and starts licking his face until he gets back up off the sofa.
"What now Ban? All I want to do is rest for a few hours in peace, is that too much to ask?"
Ban ran out of the the room until he got to the door, he started scratching it and looking back at William who followed him. William opened the door and Ban raced out into the garden then ran down the lane and disappeared from view, William quickly ran after him but couldn't catch up to him and soon had completely lost him. He headed back to Annabel's house shouting Ban's name but quickly stopped shouting as zombies were beginning to hear him and wander over and he didn't have any weapons on him. By the time he was back at Annabel's it was nearly midnight and most of the lights in the house were off, he carefully opened the door and shut it behind him before heading inside. Annabel was sleeping on the sofa sitting straight up with a blanket wrapped around her, she must have tried to stay up until William came back but couldn't and fell asleep. He gently picked her up and carried her to her room and tucked her into bed before going into the kitchen and opening the fridge and grabbed one of the beers inside, he sat down on the sofa and opened the beer and started to drink while thinking about what has happened over the past few days and how the world has changed...
William woke up early the next morning lying on the sofa with the blanket draped around him, he went and made himself breakfast before looking in the mirror, there was lost of stubble around his mouth and chin so he went and shaved it then took a quick shower. By the time he finished his shower Annabel and Jack were also up but still no sign of the mysterious person. William told them about Ban running off and they both tried to convince him that he would come back soon and that as they had already seen the zombies weren't interested in animals, just humans. This helped him a bit but he still felt hurt by Ban just leaving like that, Jack had finally managed to get the blood out of his hair and after he ate breakfast they both got on the quad and left. This time they didn't go into town but went to their houses to grab clothes and anything else they needed, they realised yesterday that Annabel was the only person with clothes to change into as they only had the clothes they were wearing at that point. They went to William's house first as it was the closer of the 2, William went inside to pack a bag full of whatever he needed and Jack stayed on the quad to keep watch. William tried to find Ban but had no luck so begrudgingly left and they headed to Jack's house next. He also filled a bag and looked around to see if anyone had been there since this all started, but he also had no luck. They decided to drive around for a bit and see if they could find anyone else, they had only seen 4 other survivors and they both thought that this was a little strange. After a while they found a house with a lit fire as smoke was coming out of the chimney. William broke down the door and they went inside, they didn't find anything that helped them until they went to walk back outside, stuck to apart of the now broken door was a letter it looked like it was meant for someone who knew the owner of the house it read.
"We are all off to the safe zone in Belfast that the military have managed to set up, meet us there if you get this message."
William and Jack were very confused at ghost because they hadn't heard of a safe zone and neither had Annabel and why Belfast, it would be even worse than here zombie wise so way harder to take back and build a safe zone. But at least this news means they now know why they can't find anyone, they had all left to go to the safe zone. They then decided to head back to Annabel to see what she said about all this new information about the safe zone.
By the time they got back the quad was nearly out of fuel so the next time they went anywhere they would have to stop and refuel. As they got closer to the door they could hear bangs and crashes before a vase was thrown out of one of the windows upstairs which smashed dangerously close to Jack. A minute later Annabel came running out to them.
"Our guest is awake and certainly not very happy, I would advise staying away from them for the rest of the day unless you want another vase to the head."
They all helped clear all the bits if shattered vase and then went inside, Jack told Annabel about the safe zone while William went to change into some of the spare clothes and left the old ones for washing. As he was about to go back down the stairs he could hear sobbing coming from the guest room, he walked ovee to the door and sat against it. When the person heard the thump of William hitting the door they immediately stopped sobbing and stayed completely silent, after a minute the door suddenly opened and William fell back into the room hitting his head hard on the wooden floor, the first thing he saw was the plain black classic school shoes, then as he slowly lifted his head he could see the tracksuit bottoms, then the classic school uniform. And at the very top of the uniform was a very angry looking face that was staring straight down at him...
