The missing body

"The surgery was a success and Yara will wake up in no time." Dr. Arizona said removing his hand gloves and surgical mask.

"I want to be by her side when she wakes up." Shark said.

"Of course." Dr. Arizona agreed.

Shark didn't wait for him to finish as he pushed the door of her room open and hurried to her side. A pale Yara lay on the bed, with suction pipes and the cardiac event monitor connected to her fragile body. Her breathing worried him. He held her soft little hand and placed it on his cheeks.

"Wake up soon my love." He muttered and kissed her hand.

From the glass window, stood the sentimental Flower who was contemplating something deep that she didn't realize Dr. Shaw's presence.

"Your husband was never this loving....love is overated and you don't even have to try, I'll get him for you." He snorted loudly as he gauged at Shark clinging onto Yara's arm.

"Attacking and at the same time defending, saving one and killing the other. You're a heartless monster!'

"I'm not the one who castrated your husband's balls, you did. He's rotting in the graveyard because you couldn't bear his little sluts climbing up your matrimonial bed." He enjoyed seeing her fret as a frosty expression had taken residence on her face.

"You don't know anything," she mumbled.

"Why don't you give a little gist? I'll be glad to tune in. Tell me more about your husband. Tell me exactly how you really felt every time he sucked those women's boobs instead of your tiny tits." Dr. Shaw mocked her and she balled her hands into fists ready to launch an attack on him.

"Hopelessly romantic huh? Punch the wall, bleed if you like." He whispered.

"No, I'm better than that right? I'm no saint but I have human feelings. What about you? You're worse than a monster. I'm not the one who opened your daughter's skull in hope to stop her madness, you did. Now where is she? Bounded with ropes in your haunted house. I'm not the one who watched your wife bleed to death, you did and you didn't do anything about it. And definitely I'm not the one who killed a mother to save her son's dying girlfriend."

"You seem to know a lot about me Flore Martins. I'll watch out if I were you, you don't want to find yourself damped in a raging river, do you?"

"Giving an account of your atrocities doesn't seem bad at all. Before you get rid of me think twice about your project, this facility and most especially your daughter. I'll unite her with her lesbian lover." Flower gave him a deadly look before sauntering away.

Dr. Arizona who had long listened to their conversation came out of his hideout and jerked forward to Dr. Shaw.

"The missing body has been given a decent burial. We have her heart though, I had it kept in the cryogenic unit. It's a topic of interest and I know...."

"No, destroy the heart or have it buried wherever. What I'm concerned about is the donor, freeze her body in a restricted room where no one else can be authorized to access. Come to my office immediately you're done, we have other patients to put under study." Dr. Shaw ordered him.

"Of course Doctor." He nodded silently.

"I'm taking her with me." Shark emerged before the duo could leave.

"She's still..."

"Point of correction Doc, as long as she's breathing I can take it from here. I've kept my word, the nine digits would of course help you freeze more victims." He sounded sarcastic.

"I'll be looking forward to work with you in future." Dr. Shaw comprehended the latter's words.

"Of course Dr. Shaw. I'm an open book so I hope you'll tell me what I need to know. You wouldn't want to treat your clients with freezed foods only, would you? Spice it up until the brain can be opened."

"I'll have my team discharge her." Dr. Arizona said before hand. He knew Shark Griffins not only wanted to salvage his dying lover but find more about their project.

"Go ahead, I need to have a word with your Boss." Shark said and Arizona left.

Shark walked side by side with Dr. Shaw to his office.

"I'm glad you can trust us. After the FBI agent raided my den years ago, I had no clue that I'll set up the most potential facility, greatest of all times." He boasted of his massive success over a bottle of blue moon.

"Here drink this, we all deserve it. For the nine digits and for a successful kidney transplant."

"No, I'm cuddling Yara tonight so I can't mock myself by taking even a shot." He rejected his offer.

"There's always one like no other, one who loves without boundaries...hold on to her, she's such a beautiful soul." Dr. Shaw said sentimentally. He alone knew how he ruined his family, his only daughter had a bipolar disorder and he couldn't do anything to cure her. His late wife, someone he never cherished until her last breath having stabbed herself.

In the middle of the night, Shark ascended to his vast bed after a taking a stroll in his garden. He had a lot in his mind but nothing mattered more than taking care of Yara.

He placed his head softly on her chest and heard her steady breathing. Even with the help of the oxygen tank, he was calm and patient to wait for her to wake up. He nudged closer and adjusted himself on the small bed, sleeping beside her.

Yara sensed some warmth and opened her eyes. She tried to move her hand to remove the oxygen mask from her nose but it was too painful.

"Ahh!" She hissed startling Shark who jolted up.

"You're awake my love." He burrowed his fingers into her now grown hair and she flinched.

"Mmmmm!" She mumbled.

"Does it hurt?" He asked her as he took off the mask and disconnected the oxygen tank.

Yara remained still without responding to his question. She just peered at him with unspoken emotions. Tears clouded her eyes and soon deluged down her cute and innocent facade.

"Why are you crying? You promised me that you'll always smile, c'mon talk to me." Shark was dying to hear her speak.

"W-why am I here with you? Didn't I tell you to leave me alone? Why..." She slurred in her speech.

"Because I love you too much," he cut her words short.

"I don't need to be loved by you...you lied to me. I don't want to love someone who lies to me." She sobbed softly and Shark extended his arm to ease her pain but she was so distant and cold.
