Chapter 44: Cade Takes Care of Matters

The last time Cade had been to this house, things had not gone well. The intruder on the pack’s territory had not been identified, but Cade had concluded that Rose’s parents were behind it. It had been too coincidental.

He didn’t have any evidence, but he wasn’t going to wait until it happened again. Most people took the pack for a bunch of hippies living in the woods in a commune. That was okay because then humans stayed away. He’d bet every tree in that forest that was what Rose’s parents had told the intruder. He hadn’t expected the level of security his pack used to keep outsiders away.

Cade pulled into the long, brick driveway and parked his truck by the front door. He paused and chose his words. He was angry, but he needed to keep it under control. These people had raised Rose, but they were also turning their backs on her. They’d threatened the one thing that was most precious to her, Keegan. If something was important to his Luna, then it was important to him.
