Chapter 31: Rose is Confused

Rose swung around to see Keegan on the back porch. The light of the day was fading, but she knew he could see Cade in wolf form very clearly. Having barely grasped the concept herself, she wasn’t ready to spring it on Keegan. Not like this and not without some thought on her part.

“Doggy,” Keegan said again, running towards the dog.

Normally she would stop him because you never knew what a strange dog would do, but Cade wouldn’t hurt Keegan. He wouldn’t hurt Rose either. She knew that to her very soul.

So many questions rolled around in her mind, and she couldn’t grasp any of them to verbalize. Then here comes Keegan. The smile on his face said many things, but they had no room in their lives for a pet. No matter how much Keegan begged for one.

Keegan stopped in front of Cade who had sat down on his haunches.
