Cade Faces A Challenger

If it wasn’t bad enough that he slept very little on a lumpy couch, Rose was adamant that she wasn’t moving in with him. Now he was grumpy and heading back to his pack. He had business to take care of that he’d been neglecting.

He’d left a wolf watching her house, which he didn’t tell Rose. There was no way he was leaving her unprotected even if he couldn’t be there. It was his job as her mate to protect her. Even if she didn't know he needed to protect her, he still would.

He hadn’t decided if he wanted to tell her that bit of information or not. She’d made it clear that she wasn’t interested in a real relationship. His ego wanted her to want him because of the type of man he was, not because she was destined to be.

In some ways, Cade wished he had never met Rose. He could have found someone to marry and have pups with and been content. No fated mated was necessary.
