Hidden Secrets

Wolf stared down on the petite woman. He could feel her pulse underneath his grip. It was racing. He was getting to her; he was sure of it.

He turned and continued on his destination leaving her to come back to realization on her own time.

Wolf checked his watch and turned to Lyma who had caught up to his side. They were strolling through a small crowd of onlooking employees. As soon as he made direct eye contact, they seemed to get the hint and returned back to what they were doing.

"How long until we make it there?" Wolf pulled out his phone to hand it to Lyma. She grabbed it and waited for his instructions.

"It's 25 minutes with traffic considered. Christian is already waiting at the front of the building."

"Good. Program her number in my phone for me."

"Good afternoon, boss!" Christian held open the double doors for Wolf as he exited the building. Giving him a slight smile and nod he strode over to the backseat door and held it open for Lyma. After making sure she was in, he slid in behind her. Before he could fasten his seatbelt, Christian was already in the driver's seat and accelerating the car.

Lyma handed the phone back to him and took hers out to go over the details of the meeting he was heading to.

'Have the details from the meeting uploaded to my calendar by tonight." Wolf texted to Kat and tucked his phone back into his suit pocket. He couldn't help but feel giddy at the thought of having this woman at his beck and call at anytime. She would soon realize what her real purpose was.

"Lyma." Wolf interrupted her after she had spewed out several minutes of details about the upcoming meeting. He placed his hand through the hair on his chin and lowered it in a fist.

"He said wife."

"What was that sir?" Lyma had a clear look of confusion on her face. One that she rarely gave him, because she understood his every need all too well.

"Gibbs called her his wife.....?"

"Um.....there has been a rumor that they might have gotten secretly married. I did hear it from Ms. Stafford upon returning."

Wolf clenched his jaw and looked over at Lyma.

"Look into it. She didn't look like a newlywed wife. Nor did she look like she's living happily ever after. I need it before the two weeks is over."

Lyma nodded and pulled out her phone to text someone. No doubt it was their private detective. He had already thoroughly did a secret investigation on her background just before arriving back into the country. Christian had made sure to do a detailed job of providing him with the information about the two. There was no documentation of her getting married. Or was the information he was given incorrect?

There's no way, he thought. However, this private detective has been by his side for nearly a decade and has yet to fail him. So, he was sure to find out the truth.

"Christian?"

The young man connected his eyes with Wolf through the rearview mirror.

"I have a task for you as well..."

"Kat!" Alana rushed over to hug her friend. The two women hugged tightly in an embrace. Tears started to well at Kat as she thought of her recent events. When she thought of never seeing her friend again. She felt a sense of guilt and embarrassment at what she did.

"How are you, Lana?" Kat grabbed the iced green tea that Lana held out for her. They were in the coffee shop at the bottom floor of Wolf Enterprise. Making their way over to the table, Lana's face was shining brightly at seeing her friend.

"What happened to you? You look very pale!" Alana reached out to clutch her friend's hand across the table. Squeezing gently, she lowered her voice and leaned into Kat.

"What did that bastard do to you?"

"Nothing. But I have bigger news to tell you."

"Well, what could be bigger than that asshole and how he treats you?" Lana released her hand and waved her hand at Kat to rush her to release whatever secret she held.

"I need you to brace yourself."

"Kat, spill it!" Lana was clearly impatient and didn't have time to continue dancing around the subject. Their lunch break was about to end in thirty minutes.

"Do you remember when we went to Brazil two years ago? And...I met him....?"

"Yes. Although I never met him, I remember you had a great week without me."

"I met him again!"

Lana's sudden shriek filled the coffee shop, turning several heads in their direction. Covering her mouth to attempt at muffling half of the sound, Lana stood up to switch seats to sit directly beside Kat.

"Well?! Go on!" Lana whispered excitedly to Kat. "Where did you meet him? Does he remember you? What did you two talk about?!"

"I'm not sure if he remembers me, but....you'll meet him very soon. Or...you have already met him. It's the CEO, Jiovanni Wolf."

Alana plopped back into her chair and dropped her cup of tea on the table, nearly spilling it over.

"Kat.....Oh My God...Kat..." Alana's eyes filled with sadness as she looked at her friend. She reached over to embrace her. Kat patted her arm to signal that she had more left to say.

"There's more... I will be his personal assistant for my last two weeks with the company. Staying with him...in his home."

"What!? There's no way he doesn't remember you!" After realizing that she was now shouting, Alana lowered her voice again and leaned in. "I'm sure he remembers you. Out of all of the people....why you?"

"Kat...do you think he knows? What are you going to do, Kat? Did you tell him?" Alana's eyes were wide with worry as she tried to search the air for an answer.

"No.I don't believe he knows. I haven't told him. He doesn't know.....He can't know." Kat was frantically worrying now. She had yet to think about the secret she was keeping from the mysterious man from 2 years ago. There's no way. She continued to try to convince herself that he didn't have a clue at what she had been hiding.

"There's no way he knows....right?"
