George rubbed his sore eyes with the back of his hand. He did not want to complain, but whatever Irene had done to him was taking a toll on his body. He glanced over at Kallista and she shook her head at him in response.
"There is not much I can do now," she said with a sour expression. "I would need certain things to unbind you and I do not have them at our disposal now. Don't worry, if she dies, the hex should lift."
George rolled his eyes at her nonchalance given the current situation they were in. He did not believe that they would be any match for an entire coven of dark witches with powers that could harm vampires to such an extreme, but he knew better than to say that out loud. He had not forgotten about Clyde's anger last night when he questioned what they were doing. The whole thing was most irregular and he had little faith in Evelyn's abilities.
