The Rat

The waiter thought that the game was up and so he no longer needed to pretend. Besides, the robbers were successful in robbing this kid, that meant he was more than capable of taking care of this kid. The matter about the drug was just a lucky guess. The kid needed some sort of luck to come into his doubtful possession of money

He dropped all his pretensions and said arrogantly as he stood, "You don't need to know anything. Just hand over whatever you have. I know all the young masters in this city. And I have never heard of you or seen you before. Clearly, you have no background and thus you have no right to possess too much wealth. You must be a rogue!"

Bai Hua just kept drinking his tea and asked wryly, "So, do you plan to rob me in broad daylight?"

"Hmmph... with no background I can accuse you of robbing the restaurant and hand you over to the imperial guards. Either way, you will not leave this establishment without handing over your valuables today!"

And saying this, he released his menacing aura.

Bai Hua just sat there unperturbed and sighed.

"Calling the imperial guards is indeed troublesome."

The waiter thought that he had managed to intimidate this kid with his aura and the threat of the imperial soldiers.

But then Bai Hua continued, "But you, I can certainly deal with a rat."

Bai Hua sent out his aura which was as thin as a strand of hair but strong enough to pressure the waiter.

Thud! The waiter had fallen to his knees. His forehead felt like it was being pushed down by some unknown force. He could not stand but remain in a kneeling position. His knee was glued to the floor. There was shock written all over his face!

"That's much better. A rat should learn to kneel when it comes across a superior existence," and seeing that it was trying to yell for help, Bai Hua laughed, "no need to yell for help, nobody can hear us. It is just you and me within this cubicle. I have sealed off everything outside this cubicle."

Seeing that he could not move from his position, the waiter hissed, "What do you want? You will not live when my master finds out that you assaulted me!"

"Hmmm... the question has always been the same. Who are you?"

"It's none of your business. Trash like you don't need to know what's beyond your capabilities. Consider you're dead once you step out of this cubicle!"

"Rats never learn," he sighed sadly and threw something on the floor just in front of the waiter. He didn't like torturing people. It was just too tiresome.

The waiter at first didn't know what the kid had thrown at him but when he narrowed his gaze towards it, it was giving a reddish glow. And then he gasped! It was a red imperial stone! He tried to grab it but it flew back into the kid's hand.

Seeing the shocked face on the waiter, he said, "The robbers that you sent out yesterday will be clearing your debts shortly. Don't think that they managed to rob me. Instead, I had generously rewarded them for their honesty. They tell me that you run a little gang of robbers that assaults and robs people under your orders. Now, which part of that is wrong?"

The waiter had cold sweats running down his spine. He was looking at a kid yet he felt like he was dealing with an adult. This kid not only had a powerful spiritual force that could make him kneel, but had also dug out information from his own underlings! He felt an instinctive fear towards this kid now that he realised what he had caught up himself with. He seemed to have chosen the wrong prey this time!

"I don't know what you are talking about," the waiter sealed his mouth.

"Because you are afraid that your master will beat you instead if he finds out that you dug yourself a nice little grave for your tiny self," Bai Hua guessed correctly.

He remained mute but his eyes had an alarming look when Bai Hua said so.

"So, I am right. You are afraid of your master. You're only a rat. Then, why don't you tell me about your master? I am more interested in him. Your drug may not have had any effect on me but that doesn't mean that mine will not. The gold coin I gave you earlier has been laced with a drug can make you go into a coma for 5 years. You will start to feel its effects soon. And only I have the antidote!"

Truly sinister, this kid was more sinister than him, thought the waiter. He was alarmed! It was impossible! How could his drug fail when it was made by his own master! The kid was as relaxed as earlier when he entered the restaurant. There were no signs of weakness but instead, he was beginning to feel that his leg was beginning to feel numb little by little.

But he suddenly thought something! It must be the kid's drug that had made him weak like this and had brought him to his knees just from a mere spiritual pressure form this kid. The kid wasn't strong as he thought he was. He just had pulled a trick on him and he had fallen for it like a rat ina cheese-trap.

"My master is the owner of this restaurant. And she will not let you off. Don't think just because you can trick me you will able to win against her. You're nothing but a trash! A rogue with stolen money!" he spat. He was thinking that as long as his master avenged him against Bai Hua, it was good enough. And, to his surprise, the spiritual pressure disappeared!

"Go and get your master and you can have this antidote here," Bai Hua said as he took out a small bottle. The door to the cubicle opened by itself as if it was beckoning him to go out.

The waiter scrambled up. He can move now! He made it straight for the door and left the cubicle to call his master.
