The Agreement

From the time I was born, I was a candidate to be the first wife of the Ying Family. My grandfather was best friends with the head of the Ying Family. They went to primary school together, secondary school and University. Both family were rich and powerful but it was well known that the Ying's were of higher status. Tracing their family blood line back two hundred years, which made them the number one family. Their family was one of wealthiest in Japan as well, making them a force of nature in the country.

My Grandfather's family last name was Watanabe, they were rich, but compared to the Ying's wealth and power. The Watanabe's were nothing, plus they were ranked fifth in Japan's most influential families.

Over the years my grandfather and Mr. Ying stayed friends. They were even each other's best men at their weddings. These two men were like brothers, being there for each other. From the birth of their children to the holidays being spend together.

But something was missing. Even though they were like family, at the end of the day they were not. The two men came up with the idea to have the to families join together in holy matrimonio. Both men first borns were boys. They didn't give up and tried again. Mrs. Ying gave birth to another boy on the second of march that year. While Mrs. Watanabe give birth on the tenth of march. The same problem arose, both children were male.

Refusing to fail, Mrs. Ying because pregnant once more but this time. Due to complications during the birth. Mrs. Ying wasn't able to get pregnant again. Mr. Ying wasn't angry at this because his wife had given him. Three beautiful boys and for this he was grateful.

My grandmother on the other hand, gave birth to three more boys. After the last son was born my Grandfather give up on the idea of a marriage between the two families.

After a few years, after the first born sons took over the companies and as heads of the family. The old Mr. Ying and my grandfather decided to join the families in the next generation.
