NARRATIVE of WARD COURIER/CONFERENCE with RICK REYNARD
April, 2012
SOUTH WALES, NY
I was crossing the campus between classes when a call came in from my Seneca friend. It was the bright Friday morning after my eventful conversations with him and Ted Bennett. I was in a rush but figured I had to take it. When Rick calls out of the blue it's just about always important.
"Well, you didn't overstate the case," said Rick. "They made a move on the Tonawanda last night." I could see him shaking his head wherever he was. "They said they were going to handle this."
I swore. I must have been a little loud. Two black junior lacrosse players in their "home game" school blazers passed me and smirked like they thought I was fighting with a girlfriend. One of them smiled as if to say, 'Mr. Courier... At it again.' "So what happened?" I said.
