Resolve For The Future

Fear

A feeling we've all felt at least once in our lives, a feeling that stems from insecurity, helplessness, or despair.

A feeling that can make one forget everything else, is it your account balance? or is it that dream job you've been after?

In a moment of fear you shall disregard it, especially when it's our most powerful instinct, survival

What do we do in our moments of fear is etched into our personality.

We either face and overcame it or run away from it, but what if you couldn't do either, what happens then?

--------

Panic has ensued throughout the world following the news of the incoming invasion, leading humans to despair, and that despair became chaos.

Pure and unadulterated chaos.

Cities littered with burnt buildings, exploding cars, and dead bodies, this occurred all over the world

Common folk has all been evacuated into underground bunkers made of metal from gates, there were contraptions designed for this specific scenario, who would have thought they'd be using it so soon?

Naturally, women and children were prioritized over men, and with capacity being limited, chaos broke out, men and women In desperation began killing each other, and soldiers in charge of seeing the process of evacuation goes smoothly.

The government of each country rallied all available hunters together for the fight of their lives, from F rank to SS rank.

All standing in a formation, waiting for the enemies to show up, different emotions going through all of their minds,

From the fear of death of the weak-willed hunters to anxiety to meet alien life from outer space to excitement to battle something "not weak"

A war is about to begin that'll determine the future of both sides, but far away from all this, on an extensive island, a dark blue abomination currently sitting in the sand looking at his hands.

Naturally, this was Zephyr, during the past few hours after finishing off the last of the Scorpions, he had been practicing.

Though changing back to human form isn't possible yet, he found that he could adjust his body's skeletal structure, well if he had a skeleton that is.

He was able to turn himself entirely into a Scorpion and a human but with dark blue skin color, now he's practicing partial reconstruction.

He could only restructure his two hands into Scorpion pincers for now.

He's sitting down on the sand, waiting for the core to give him an affirmation on their enemies, when he begins to reminisce on the past two days since he arrived, with a myriad of emotions expressed on his face.

He had caused too much trouble for the humans on this planet, his stupidity getting the better of him, he had thought of himself as a protagonist when he reincarnated into this world, as someone who was destined for greatness, he had been foolish enough to go to a dungeon without having any prior knowledge or skills whatsoever, thinking about the hunters had mistakenly killed, he couldn't find himself feeling any guilt.

He wondered if his powers had affected his mentality, he didn't think like this before, so what had changed?

"Hmm...what it those novels?" He mumbled to himself, but he immediately shook his head, that wasn't it.

He had been a zealous weeb for a very long time, it was what had caused his protagonist complex in the first place, but he couldn't have killed someone before and not be fazed by it.

He could understand not being fazed when the voice he was talking to said it was the planetary core, his extensive knowledge on weeb stuff was vast, so he wasn't all that surprised.

He also wondered if had been thrown into one of the novels he read, but that wasn't it either, no novel character he had read about was in his situation, and the earth wasn't undergoing an Apocalypse, so he concluded that he was really in another completely different world.

However, he was also glad and grateful in a way, he had changed after coming to this world, after feeling the fear of death for the first time, he realized something, he was weak, extremely weak and he almost died because of it

Then he had been teleported into a Scorpions den, and he had not only survived but he won in the end, his level of confidence rose after that encounter, but at the back of his mind, he knew.

He knew he was still terribly weak when compared to real powerhouses of this world, at most his strength was that of a c rank hunter at best, his only saving grace is his ability to dissolve almost anything, but that wasn't all.

Ever since he was able to forcefully close a gate, many questions arose in his mind, what was this power of his? many questions rose from there

The planetary core had said that no life form should be able to wield it, what did that mean for him? and if so, what was it? where did it come from? and the most bothering, how had he acquired it in the first place?

All sorts of questions sprouting one after another, and with no answer in sight.

He also wondered how many people or the higher existence of this universe had been alerted to his existence? Special items always attract envious gazes, and without enough power to protect oneself, you would either be forced to hand it over or he would be killed because of it.

Which was just another reason for him to get stronger faster, while thinking about this, he couldn't help but think he had actually become a protagonist.

He had all the requirements for one, unique power, a reason to look for strength, and being at the center of events.

For a brief moment, he chuckled, those novels and manga had really done a number on him, but when he about thought it, he couldn't help but think that this was his greatest power, but it was also his greatest flaw.

It was what had caused him to head Into that dungeon, so he had been seriously cautious going forward, he couldn't afford to be stupid, or he killed sooner than he thought.

"Hmm.....was I always looking forward to living this kind of life? he couldn't help but ask himself because somewhere in his heart, he felt excitement and anxiety, but he also felt apprehensive, what kind of beings were coming to invade them, and why hadn't they shown themselves until now, the planetary core only had a hypothesis, so nothing was set in stone, he would only be sure when they invaded, and if they were as powerful as the core had said then, he felt even more concerned because the core had said something was hampering their progress.

What could be hampering their progress, was it another race? or was it something else? and if it was, would it be an ally or people also pushing their own agenda or where they were not as strong as the core had hypothesized, he couldn't be sure, having so many unanswered questions was stifling.

With every passing moment, his desire to become stronger only grew, his resolve became even more solid, to survive in such a world, strength was the first qualification, all other things came after, he couldn't stay idle in such a world like a sitting duck, but he could only wait for the commencement of the invasion, with that he stood up

He could now understand the real importance of information, they were just too many questions, he would have to put them them t the back of his mind until later.

As he stood up to resume his body training, a very familiar voice rang out in his mind

[ It's time]

He nodded hearing those words and then a familiar phenomenon began along with two words

[Brace yourself]

The surrounding particles began to gather on his body, the place began glowing yellow and then;

WAP!

He was teleported

AND SO IT BEGINS
