Chapter 6: Bet between Black and White

"Stop bickering kiddos and follow me. I'll be introducing you to you teachers," Thorfinn said as he walked towards the door and left the room, leaving behind the two teens. The two teens then stopped their bickering ang quickly followed Thorfinn as they walked down the stairs of the tower.

After leaving the tower where you can find the teachers and principal's office, Thorfinn, Abysmu and Kaiser arrived at an arena. The arena was built like The Colosseum of the Romans. Standing inside the arena was two middle-aged men.

One of them was a middle-aged man who was average looking. His hair was long ang black and he wears a black robe full of patches. At the back of his robe was a black hole, the insignia of the void element. The middle-aged man was skinny, tall and always laughing. Even now, the man was laughing as he talked to the other middle-aged man beside him. This middle-aged man's name was Gregory Abision. He was also known as Abysswalker.

While the other middle-aged man was the father of Kaiser, Noah Lightingale also known as Blinding Light. Kaiser got his good looks on his father. He was handsome, fair skinned, tall but he's muscular. His hair and beard was white. He was wearing s noble's outfit the same as Kaiser, white colored clothes embroidered with gold and jewelries.

"Those two middle-aged men will gonna be your teacher until both of you got promoted to seniors. That means that the two of them will be your teachers for one whole year. Go greet them," Thorfinn said as he waved his hands towards Gregory and Noah and went to them, prompting the two teens to follow Thorfinn.

"Long time no see Thorfinn! You have changed!" Gregory said as he patted Thorfinn's shoulder while laughing.

"And you haven't change at all Gregory. You are the same off the grid man i knew. Where did you go these past 3 years?" Thorfinn said as he pushed Gregory's hands away from his shoulder.

"It's a secret! I just went sightseeing, nothing to worry about! By the way, I heard Noah got a child? Isn't it funny?" Gregory said as he chuckled while looking at Noah.

"Shut up Greg. Hey Thor, long time no see. How's your life? Do you have a wife now? Why do I ask tje obvious questions. Of course you don't have a wife. Birds with the same feathers flock together right Greg?" Noah said as she burned both Gregory and Thorfinn with just one sentence.

"You bxtch! Let's fight Noah! You coward!" Gregory said as he rushed towards Noah only to be held down by Thorfinn.

"Unfortunately, my wife just got pregnant so I expect that I'm gonna be a father in 8 months, I apologize for not telling you guys," Thorfinn said as he apologetically bowed towards Gregory and Noah.

"You bastxrd!" Gregory and Noah both said as they jumped on Thorfinn like little kids.

"Wait wait! There are students in front of us! Teach them first and deal with me later," Thorfinn said as Gregory and Noah both stopped their beating and looked behind Thorfinn. Thorfinn used this opening to get out of their lock and fled away while shouting," Teach the kids well! They are our trump cards for this year's competition! "

" Damn that Thorfinn," Gregory said as he looked towards the teens.

"Is that your son Noah?" Gregory asked as he recognized Kaiser's face.

"Yes, he's also a light element so I expected Thorfinn to send him to us when he called for us," Noah said as he looked towards Kaiser.

"Introduce yourself kids," Noah said as he scrutinized both his son and the other teen on the side.

"My name is Kaiser Lightingale and my element is light. Please take care of me!" Kaiser said while he bowed towards the teachers.

"My name is Abysmu Voidante and my element is void. Please take care of me!" Abysmu said as he also bowed towards the teachers.

"Hey Noah, wanna bet with our students?

" What's the bet Greg? Don't tell me you're that gonna bet the precious book that you found in your adventures? " Noah asked jokingly.

" Do you want to me to bet my precious book? It's name is Book of Eternal Light and I know that you know what it means."

" Book of Eternal Light? Sounds interesting. What do you want me to bet?

"I want one of your family's treasure, the Earrings of Voideater. Deal?"

Noah contemplated for a moment before saying with gritted teeth, "Deal."

"Okay then. Prepare your Earrings of the Voideater because my student will gonna kick your son's ass. Hahahaha," Gregory said while clutching his stomach and laughing loudly.

"Come here kiddo void, I'm gonna teach you some things that you can use to beat Noah's son's ass. Hurry kiddo!" Gregory said, prompting Abysmu to ran behind him.

"See you later at the Weekly Evaluation, Noah. Hahaha!" Gregory said as he left the arena while laughing, Abysmu following his footsteps as they left.

"Kaiser,"

"Yes father,"

"This week's training will going to be hard and insane if you want to beat that Abysmu kid. Gregory is the top of our class so don't you underestimate his student. Always remember that. Come on, we're gonna train at our home."

"Yes father, i would do my best to endure the harsh training and defeat Abysmu. You can count in me father."

Noah and Kaiser then left the arena.

After walking for almost 30 minutes, Gregory and Abysmu arrived in front of the gate of the university. Gregory talked briefly with the elementalist who was guarding the gate. After Gregory was done talking, the elementalist guard opened the barrier and the gate and let Gregory outside.

"Come on kiddo, we got the permission to go out thanks to this amazing guard, hurry up if you want to be strong," Gregory said as he signalled Abysmu to follow him and stepped outside.

Abysmu bowed towards the guard and then he went to Gregory who was now in the distance. Abysmu then followed Gregory who was walking inside the alley of a street. As Abysmu turned to look inside the alley, Gregory was not there now.

A voice then echoed in Abysmu's head,"Our training is starting now. First, I'm gonna test your physical ability and awareness. If you find me within a day, I will teach you a skill that makes you faster using the void but if you don't find me within day, I will beat you up and then teach you a skill that minimizes the damage done you by using the void. Well, what are you waiting for? Find me now hehehe, " Gregory said as his voice slowly disappear, his chuckling still echoing in Abysmu's mind.

"Well, good luck to me," Abysmu started to freerun as he followed the scent of Gregory. As a former child in an orphanage, Abysmu and the other kids stole foods and then hide them inside the hidden places on the house they lived. Then at night or breaks, they will use their sense of smell to follow the scent of the food they hid. Although its sound impossible, the orphans did it. They also didn't need to worry about ants and mice as their house was covered by a barrier that prevents pests and other animals from entering the house.

After freerunning for almost four hours without break, Abysmu was now exhausted as fxck but he still didn't see any hair from Gregory's body. But Abysmu felt that he was getting closer to Gregory as he can now smell better the stink of his teacher. Abysmu was disgusted but he endured it for the skill.

Inside a forest near the city, a middle-aged man wearing a black robe was sitting under a tree. He then looked at the sky which was now starting to get dark as the sun is starting to set. As he was about to stand up, a teen was running towards him. The teen was clearly exhausted but he persevered, which is the most important lesson that Gregory wanted to engrave on Abysmu's mind.

'He found me within five hours, pretty good for a beginner,' Gregory thought inwardly as he congratulated Abysmu from finding him within 24 hours.

"Congratulations kiddo, you are now my student. Drink this stamina potion so that you can regain your lost stamina. You persevered until now so you deserve this stamina potion," Gregory said as he threw a yellow-colored liquid inside a glass bottle towards Abysmu. Absymu caught the glass bottle and then he pulled the plug of the bottle and drank it.

Gulping sounds was made when Abysmu drank the bottle. After he finished drinking it all, Abysmu noticed that his body was not exhausted now. Abysmu was overjoyed and he thanked Gregory, "Thanks for the liquid teacher."

"It's your reward so please don't thank me. I'm gonna teach you only one skill but after I saw your perseverance, I decided to teach you the other skill two. Be prepared kiddo, you will experience both heaven and hell within a week so engrave this experience on your mind. Here I come! Gregory said as he rushed towards Abysmu who put his guard up. Abysmu's training was starting now.

Meanwhile, two teen girls was standing and waiting in front of the female dormitory, clearly waiting for someone when a teacher who was wearing a blue robe told them that the person they were waiting for was not gonna come back in their dorm for the week.

The two teen girls was then flabbergasted as they waited for him for almost three hours! The two teen girls then decided to come back to their own dorm rooms, a hint of anger on a cute girl's face and a hint of sadness on a beautiful girl's face.
