Chapter-24: Meeting In The Comic Cafe

All four of them sat inside the comic store waiting for Wei Chen.

The otaku minds of Xiao Bo and Shen Yu woke up as soon as they saw the comic books on the shelves of the store.

They both started looking for their favorite Mangas and touched the newly released editions of One Piece, 'Punk Hazard Arc' and 'Dressrosa Arc' at the same time.

They looked at each other with knowing smiles, hugged the books, sat on the table beside, facing each other, and started reading them forgetting about everything.

"Look at those two..."

Xin Yi commented, placing his head on his palm which was supported by his elbow on the table in front of him.

Wang Mu Chen was astonished seeing the smaller's bright smile reading his favorite book.

He knew that his little brother Shen Yu was a huge Otaku but didn't know Xiao Bo also belonged to the same species.

Feng Xin Yi grinned, shaking his head, seeing his Otaku friends.

He was not a fan of anime or manga. He was more into reading thick Sci-fi fantasy novels in his spare time.

And Mu Chen... well, he was not into anything cause according to him, he didn't even have a single second to spare for a hobby as he was busy with his studies and running his company.

If we search for his hobbies under a magnifying lens then he would play Soccer with his classmates whenever there was a competition against other Universities.

The P.E. would always look for Mu Chen cause he has the ability to play at the national level championship.

Time-to-time when he would visit their main Mansion, he would play 'Go' with his Zufu(Grandfather), and when he wanted to relieve all his stress or would not want to think about anything else he did gardening in his apartment.

"Mu Gege," Xin Yi looked serious as he called the elder.

Mu Chen looked at him, "Hm?"

"I know I am asking this again but are you serious about what you told us? Are you going to marry, Xiao Xiao for real? It's not like I am doubting your decision but it's just too sudden and you are not some person who will fall in love at first sight...right?" Xin Yi wanted to know the truth.

Wang Mu Chen sighed defeatedly, "I know you are shocked about this swift decision I made. Honestly, when I first barged into the Dean's office, it wasn't my plan at all to declare Xiao Bo as my Fiance."

"Then?" Xin Yi became curious.

"I was just enraged by how they were accusing and degrading him with disgusting names. They were dead set on expelling him even when they knew he didn't do anything wrong. And when I saw him crying..." Mu Chen paused as he fisted his palm tightly.

"I couldn't take it. No matter what I say at that time it wouldn't go through their mudheads. So, I spouted that Xiao Bo was my Fiance to give him the power of Wang's which would terrify and make them kneel before him whom they humiliated," Mu Chen gritted his teeth.

Xin Yi nodded understanding the elder's perspective,

"But, you didn't think much about the consequences of your actions and words...?"

Mu Chen agreed that he wasn't thoughtful enough at that time about the repercussions.

"It is very unlikely of you, Mu Gege. You are not a person to do something without thinking about it for at least a hundred times and you are telling me in a fit of pique, you claimed Xiao Bo as your Fiance," Xin Yi was rather confounded.

"I too am surprised when I said that but..." Mu Chen paused as he glanced at the smaller, "...I don't know. When it comes to him, I think I am losing all my reasonings."

Xin Yi beamed hearing the elder's words,

"It seems your cold heart is starting to melt, Mu Gege."

"Maybe... I am not certain about these new emotions that I am feeling. But one thing I am sure about is... He is the one who is shaking me up and I can no longer stay away from him. I need to know why his every action affects me so much,"

Mu Chen said as he placed his hand on his heart looking at the smaller.

"It's just been hardly two days since Xiao Xiao came into our lives and see how much we have changed. How much you have changed, Gege? I think he is just that puzzle piece that we lost in our lives who came back to make our lives perfect," Xin Yi stated.

"You are right..." Mu Chen was all smiles.

Just then the bells hanging on the door rang as Wei Chen followed by Feng Mian entered the comic store.

"Xiao Xiao!"

Wei Chen ran towards the Younger who stood up and hugged his elder brother.

"Dage..."

"What is all this? I saw the video, those bastards dare to demean you like that."

Wei Chen was furious just recalling the scene.

"Calm down, Dage."

Xiao Bo broke the hug and held his shoulders.

"How can I? And what's this all about you being the Fiance of the Wang family's Young Master, huh?" Wei Chen looked worried.

Xiao Bo looked at the elder and Wei Chen turned his head to see him,

"So, Young Master Wang, you are here too."

Mu Chen just nodded.

He didn't know why but he didn't like Wei Chen from the start even when he saw him for the first time at the dorms, he felt ominous and a feeling that he couldn't pinpoint.

Feng Mian bumped his fist on Mu Chen's chest,

"Hey, man. When did you get engaged without me knowing? I am very sad that you didn't even invite me, your only friend to your engagement."

Mu Chen rolled his eyes and shoved him away,

"Shut up."

Wei Chen pulled his eyebrows together seeing Feng Mian and Mu Chen all chummy,

"You two know each other?"

"Yes, MuMu is my best friend, right?"

Feng Mian wiggled his eyebrows to make the other agree to his words.

"Call me with that absurd name again...and see if I kill you or not," Mu Chen glared.

"Now, now! Don't be such a hard-hearted, how can you kill your only friend? You will become lonely without me," Feng Mian teased.

Mu Chen sighed exhaustedly,

"Why did you come here anyway?"

"Young Master, Wang. I need to know what's happening. I assume you just said that Xiao Xiao is your Fiance to help him get out of the trouble, right?" Wei Chen interrupted.

Mu Chen nodded, "That's right. But since the news has been spread throughout the country I can't take back what I said. So I have decided to take responsibility for my words and marry Xiao Bo."

"WHAT?"

Wei Chen was dumbstruck hearing it.

Xiao Bo still couldn't believe his ears no matter how many times he heard the elder saying that he wanted to marry him.

"But... Xiao Bo is still a kid... he..."

Wei Chen's face has a complicated expression on his face.

"Yes, I know but I don't want his reputation to be tarnished because of me. As he is still a minor we can just get engaged for now after discussing with the family members and then we can get married when Xiao Bo is ready," Mu Chen expressed his thoughts.

Feng Mian clapped in excitement,

"Finally, you are not going to be single anymore!"

Xin Yi shook his head, "Mian Gege, worry about yourself, first. If you don't stop playing and settle for one, you will be the one who will be left single in your sixties, I am telling you."

"YiYi, don't curse me like that. And I do have-"

He stopped himself from speaking any further looking at Wei Chen.

Wei Chen didn't pay attention to the other's words as he was too shocked by the sudden news that the Young Master of the Wang family want to marry his little brother and the most powerful family in the entire country will become their in-laws.

He couldn't comprehend what was going on anymore cause first he has been targeted by the most influential Li family's Young Master and now his little brother has become the Fiance of the Wang family's Young Master.

It was as if every wish of his greedy father was coming alive.

He had no clue how he could protect his little brother from all this mess cause he was beyond doubt that his Father was going to take advantage of Xiao Bo to become more powerful.

"I know the situation is serious but why don't you all just sit and talk? If not I think the store owner will kick us out any moment."

Shen Yu pointed at the big-muscled man glowering at them.

"Ahem, that's right. Let's take a seat and discuss everything calmly," Xin Yi suggested clearing his throat.

They all agreed and sat around the table with Xiao Bo sitting in between his brother and Shen Yu.

Mu Chen wanted to argue about the seating arrangement but Xin Yi calmed him down and Feng Mian took the chance to sit beside Wei Chen.

"Xiao Xiao, are you alright... with all of this?"

Wei Chen queried as he took the smaller's hand in his looking concerned.

Frankly speaking, Xiao Bo was in a state of confusion and it didn't sink in him yet that Mu Chen would become his Fiance and then his husband.

It was impossible to even imagine where he came from cause the one who was claiming that he would marry him to stop all the bad rumors about him was the one who killed him in his past life to marry his lover, Feng Xin Yi.

It was not making any sense to him that Wang Mu Chen the protagonist of the novel, 'Childhood Sweethearts,' became interested and wanted to marry him, the Villain of the same novel.

In a small corner of his heart, he was feeling a little happy that the one whom he loved with all his life wanted to be a part of his life which he always dreamt of in his past life.

But after going through so much he doesn't want to believe in such sweet dreams that would cloud his mind and make him hope for the love he yearned for and in the end would break him to the point of no return.
