Chapter 152 - Rafiq
Despite the shopkeeper's request, Kaito keeps the dagger pressed against Rafiq's neck, his gaze determined and implacable. The atmosphere in the small, dusty store becomes tense as silence reigns. Seconds pass like minutes, and Rafiq breaks out in a cold sweat under the pressure of the sharp blade.
Finally, after a moment that seemed like an eternity, Kaito nods slowly, indicating that he is willing to lower the dagger, but he doesn't lower it completely. Instead, he holds it at a safe distance, keeping Rafiq in his field of vision. With calculated movements, he lowers the dagger, but keeps his gaze fixed on the store owner.
Rafiq breathes a sigh of relief, but his expression remains tense. He is clearly aware that Kaito is a dangerous man, after all Kaito is the only slave, except for Yulia, who has managed to escape from the Oshi Auction House.
"What do you want, sir? Money?" Rafiq asks, thinking that this might be a robbery.
