Poisoned (2)

"Just sleep for today," Lenora's said as her eyes still were on her husband warning him to do something stupid and he will face the consequences. Zaros smiled at her masked concern. He nodded his head vigorously.

"No excessive moments," Lenora warned him again. A smile formed on his face as he left the place. It has been a while since Lenora saw him smile at her like that. The nostalgic feeling about their childhood times came into her mind like a movie rewind at his smile. Her expression softened at him. Lenora's eyes held pain for his pain. She wished to take off this pain from him. When she realized what she was doing, She just shook off the feeling and looked ahead with a cold gaze.

Zaros saw her expression faltering for a second before turning into a cold expression. At least that expression cracked for a second. There were times when these three siblings has a good time. Even he went into the past for a second before recovering from those memories.

Maybe he could use this as a good opportunity for him to reconcile with Lenora. He can't be with this poison till tomorrow as there was a coronation event tomorrow. He knew his brother-in-law would try to hide this Werewolf Venom issue from everyone. Instead of letting him hide it, he will hide it by himself. He would hide things from everyone.

Zaros would let his wife be with him and act all pitiful. That way he could cling to her and develop their relationship. Zaros was already having his own scenario to get benefits. Sometimes… bane becomes boon. Boon becomes a bane. Here for Zaros, the bane became a boon.

"If I don't attend tomorrow's coronation all hail and healthy, you would be responsible, Werewolf King," Zaros reminded that.

Yes, he was right tho. Even Maximus knew that. Lenora knew that too. How could they not know? The Vampire King stopped in the Werewolf Kingdom for the day of Coronation. If he goes missing, it would be a suspicious thing for others. It will rise gossip and rumors into the air. The harmony between the ministers of the Werewolf kingdom and the Vampire kingdom will be faltered. Again the pact conditions will be questioned. No one was a fool to not notice the absence of the Vampire King. The first ones who will be questioning them would be their mothers. Handling those two legendary mothers was not something to deal with them. These two men can handle a hundred men, but not their mothers, sisters, and wives.

"I know that. I will take care of things. You just return to your room," Maximus said. Maximus looked at him with a narrowed look which earned another glare from Lenora.

Maximus: "..."

'Wifey, you too biased,' he cried internally.

After hearing those words, Zaros got up from his seat and was about to leave.

"Take care," Lenora's faint voice reached his ears.

A genuine smile lit over his face as he looked at her. She cares about him that's enough. In no time, his sister will become his sister again. He was happy despite being poisoned. The place where Maximus's claws scratched, started itching already for him. He held the urge to itch and continued walking forward like he felt nothing.

Zaros already started plotting in his head against his cute wife on how to get her into his arms. The more he thought about it, the more excited he became.

The moment he was in front of his chambers, he made the servants leave the chambers silently. When they left, he started his act.

"Ahh…wifey, please help me," he said clutching his arm where Maximus's claws were pierced. His face was contorted with a painful expression. And to the fact, he pressed the would a little making the blood drip from his would. As a Vampire, everything will be healed in seconds. When she saw the wound, she ran to him. She felt something odd with his wound.

"What's wrong, Zaros?" Adira asked as she rushed to him. She helped him to the bed. She started removing his clothes, shoes, and everything on his body. She bought some clothes and tore them into pieces as she tied them around the wound trying to not let it spread through his whole body.

This wasn't how things were with him. He has amazing healing abilities. Then why was his wound not healing? Her face was marred with a worried expression for him. Zaros was already enjoying her immense attention for him. He was loving every moment with her.

"Ahh!" she groaned again making her more worried.

Adira searched for his injury and noticed the mark. Adira's eyes widened when she saw the claw mark. She was too familiar with werewolf marks, after all, she was one.

She panicked seeing it. Tears pooled in her eyes at the sight.

"Don't worry. Your brother will get me the antidote prepared in a few hours," Zaros said in a pitiful voice that made her heart tremble for him.

Little Adira who was many times younger than him started feeling bad. She felt like crying, tears pooled in her eyes seeing him like this. Vampires may die with Werewolf poison in their bodies if the poison stayed for more than seven days. Even though they had cracks in their relationships. She never wanted him to die.

Tears dropped from her eyes. Zaros was shocked at her outburst. Maybe he shouldn't act much. His heart wrenched in pain at her tears. He never wanted to be the reason for her tears. Now, seeing her in tears made his heart melting. He should stop with his act and make her feel relaxed.

"Shhh… Don't cry. I am fine," Zaros said as he hugged her from the front. He started patting her back with his hands trying to assure her.

"No. There is poison in your body. I will urge brother to make it faster," she said as she tried to run from her chambers and get someone to help him.
