Adira smiled bitterly at the state she was in. What she could do? When she was born as a princess in the royal family… she was deemed to sacrifice her life for the sake of their kingdom and her citizens.
Sighing she leaned back on her couch tiredly. These were the days that she opt to sleep like there was no tomorrow and doesn't need to get up for a long time.
She yawned slightly as she noticed the orange rays of the sun were peeking out of the slit mountains engulfing the sky in its warmth. The twilight after the night was something she liked. The sunrise… made her at peace and happy. A small smile curved on her lips as she looked at the slightly turning orange sky. There was always light after the darkness.
This flashed in her mind suddenly. Maybe she can have hope in her relationship too.
She knew that he was acting even after knowing what he did to her. Adira was hundred percent sure that he knew everything but he was lying.
Why would he do that? She asked herself. This was the question that was bugging her for quite some time. She couldn't comprehend why he was doing this.
[Maybe he wants to start a new with you.] her wolf Leina said to her.
To Adira, this reason seemed to be more passable. But she shook her head. It's Zaros.
Why would he want to start a new with her? This didn't make any sense to her. She wondered if she could digest this fact if he said to her. Maybe she would faint if he said that to her.
She smiled wryly to herself. She got up from her seat and walked towards the window where the curtains were left open by the servants carelessly. They knew Vampires could not stand in the sun, so the curtains were always closed in the chambers where Vampires live. Not only them… even in the chambers of the Werewolves. Shaking her thoughts she let her gaze fall on the distant slit mountains where she could see the tiny glimpse of the rising sun.
Shifting her gaze back to the rising sun that cast a rosy hue across the sky. She watched as the golden fingers of sunlight lit up the world as it drove away the darkness. It directly filled her heart. She could feel those golden fingers of the morning rays directly filling her heart making her feel positive and all the negative thoughts which were in her mind disappeared as they filled her head.
"This was what they call beauty," she muttered to herself. She wished to paint this scene but such a shame… she didn't have her canvas, brushes, and her paints.
She made a mental note to paint this scene in her chambers after she got back to her chambers. The desire to paint this beautiful scene and lock it in her painting grew in her heart, making her calmly restless. See the humor of the situation, she was calm but restless. What a way of fate to teach people about things?
A contented yet amused smile formed on her lips as she continued to stare at the crisp and clear dawn that was emerging in front of her eyes. Resting her hand on the window sill she let the coldness seep into her slightly warm body. The humming of the birds was lulling her to sleep with their natural melodies that made her feel relaxed. Looking ahead, she lost herself in nature's beauty.
Zaros stepped out of the dressing room only to meet with her serene beauty. He could see that she was enjoying the morning view. She was totally lost in the scene in front of her.
Walking ahead, he approached her with his slow, steady, and silent steps. Adira didn't even notice when he approached her after all she was too lost in watching the beautiful scenery. To her whatever she was watching looked divine and out of the world.
Zaros understood why she was so lost in the view, he has to agree… even the beautiful orange, yellow and blue colored sky stole his heart for a moment. He wished to end his night this way with his wife and start his night with her in his arms.
And he will redeem himself to achieve that. He didn't have the heart to disturb her but she looks peaceful now. If not now, then he would not have a chance next time.
One way or another his apology was getting delayed which made him feel restless as time passed.
"Adira," he called softly. Like a gentle breeze caressing the shivering leaf, his voice reached her ears. He expected her to panic but she didn't. She was calm. She didn't even react. Maybe the view and the beauty of nature made her shut all her hearing senses.
"Adira," he called again. She turned around with a frown on her face which was soon relaxed.
Adira, who was enjoying the view, heard her husband's gentle call. She thought she was hearing things. Her husband calls her in a gentle voice… that must be an illusion. She smiled at herself for her stupidity and continued to watch the sky. She saw… birds flocking together in the shape of 'V' in the sky. They flew together for some distance before they scattered off.
A smile on her face appeared at the scene. In the evenings, when she woke up, she used to see similar scenes. Seeing similar scenes in the sky, made her feel at ease.
"Adira," she heard the same voice calling her in the same gentle tone. Or maybe an even gentler tone. She slowly turned her head to meet his gaze.
She saw her husband standing behind her gazing at the sky with a calm expression that filled her heart with warmth. She wished this to happen all the time, but… it's just a wish after all.
Adira turned her body towards him completely putting some good amount of distance between them.
"My Lord," she bowed and curtsied herself in front of him. Adira prayed a little that he wouldn't ruin her day. She wished to sleep peacefully after all.
