82. In His Study
"Come in," Mauve mumbled into the sheets.
She heard the door open but did not attempt to move or look at Mill. She remained on the bed, lying on her face. She heard the sound of the tray as it hit the table and she said her thanks.
"Mauve," Mill softly called.
"Yes," she slowly answered.
"Is everything alright?"
"Yes," Mauve repeated in the same tone.
"Would you like me to do anything for you?"
"No."
"When would you like to have your bath?" Mill pestered.
Mauve groaned, "I will call you up."
"Um, okay Mauve. Don't hesitate to let me know if you need anything."
"Mill," Mauve suddenly called, sitting upright.
The vampire stopped in her tracks just before she reached the door. She turned around slowly and answered, "Yes."
Mauve cleared her throat and her eyes darted from side to side. "Do you…" She coughed slightly as she tried to make her voice louder. "Do you know where Jael's study is?"
