61. Embarrassed
Mauve woke up slowly. Her body woke up first and then her eyes flew open. Her room was empty and she was all by herself. The first thing she realized was how hungry she was. She looked to her side, the bowl and tray were still in the room. She found this a little odd but didn't think much about it.
Mauve picked a fruit and sank her teeth into it. She let the juice run inside her mouth and she smacked her lips. She dropped the core and rested her back against the headrest.
She stayed in the position for a while as she contemplated moving. She didn't want to have to go outside but she didn't feel sick, staying in bed would just make her feel more down.
She turned to look at the tray and without giving it much thought she stood up from the bed and walked to the wardrobe. If she called for Vae's help, she would most definitely tell her to remain in bed.
