378. Ass Kick
Jael walked down the stairs leading to the ground floor. He walked purposefully, and it looked like he intended to leave the castle.
He got to the front doors, and the guards bowed at him before throwing the doors open. Jael simply nodded and walked out the door.
"Where do you think you're going?" Louis asked Jael as he walked out through the front doors.
Jael didn't respond and just continued. He already knew Louis was behind him. He carefully went down the stairs.
"Jael," Louis called again. His voice sounded too close for comfort.
"Where are you going? You are in no condition to leave the castle."
"I don't see how that's any of your business," he responded. His gaze slightly lifted to the sky.
There were almost no stars as he lifted his gaze; a few could be seen, but the cloudy sky obstructed them from view. Even the moon didn't look so bright.
