"Could my daughter, Lady Sabrina stay in the castle until the day you intend to leave for the meeting?"
Jael held the Lord's gaze for a few seconds. He had expected the Lord to ask for something in return but this was going too far.
He could tell Lord Garth was still adamant about him choosing a mate and his daughter at that, it shouldn't come as a surprise that he would take this step.
However, there was no denying Lord Garth's usefulness. Dealing with the fence and the meeting was pretty important and he could count on the Lord for a job well done.
He didn't want to hold the meeting here, not just because he couldn't stand the Lord but he also didn't want to put Mauve through that again, at least not anytime soon.
He would have to keep her locked up in the room, just to be safe. No harm would likely come to her, however, it was better safe than sorry.
