Chapter 47: Uncooperative Friends

POV: Grace 

After what happened yesterday, Grace returned to her own bed and slept quickly to try to get her mind of the things that she had witnessed.

I took a breath for what was about to happen to me. After my failed attempts in trying to warn the others about their impending doom at the hands of my captor named Claude Montresor. I decided that it would be best to save my energy to try to save myself rather than these ungrateful people.

Laying down on my bed, I realized that staying in this mansion is slowly changing me. I mean I have the best interests to keep people safe by keeping them away from the danger but why does it always end up with me being the one at fault and at heartache for all of this.

The moment I tried to keep Penelope safe from Claude's dirty blood-soaked paws, she made me her sworn enemy and proceeded to harass me and break our friendship. Her anger was even strong enough that she tried to kill me by choking me by the neck.
