Lifting the rubble

"No, no, no, no." Ivan's voice trembled, panic gripping him as he stared at his trapped foor. At first glance, it seemed certain that his leg had been rendered useless. A wave of stubbornness, however, surged through him.

He attempted to pull his leg free, but to his horror, he did not receive any feedback from the leg. It was as if the leg wasn't there, foreign to the rest of his body.

He leaned his upper body forward and tried to lift the rubble off his leg. His efforts prove futile, as the rubble was to big and heavy for him to even move.

After a few rounds of fruitless attemps, Ivan's back collapsed on the stone floor again in exasperation. Nothing he had tried worked out, and it seemed like he would be trapped there for a long time, at least till someone discovered him.

While Ivan lay defeated on the ground, exhausted, a certain idea suddenly popped in his head. 'It- it should work?' Ivan thought, a glimmer of hope brightening his expression.
