Maybe because Duke Morgan's group didn't hear back from the group tasked with getting rid of Ariana until morning came, they finally split up to look for the group's whereabouts. But what they find is a fight that kills everyone tasked with getting rid of Ariana. Ariana's whereabouts can't be found anywhere. But from the traces of blood that could be seen from the swords of the dead, they could guess that Ariana had not only suffered minor injuries after fighting ten soldiers alone.
