Chapter 27

The next morning, Cain, Lera, Caleb, Isabel and Dora sat together and thought about strategies to kill Abraham and his pack and anyone who did not want to lead a peaceful life.

Fiona, Drake and Luna came out of the den and saw them.

Why were we not included into the plan? Fiona asked as she looked at Caleb angrily.

Caleb got up and went to her.

Fiona you have to stay with the kids! I will not jeopardize you or them! Father says we may be going against thousands of werewolves. Caleb said softly and kissed her face.

I will do no such things! We spoke about this already Caleb! So I must live without all of my family if things go wrong? Is that what you're asking us to do? Fiona said with water in her eyes but with a very menacing glare.

Caleb looked at her and he knew immediately that Fiona was determined from the look she gave him.

Dora is Drake and Luna ready in your honest opinion to go against the werewolves? Caleb asked knowing that she would answer him honestly.

They have learned a lot and are more experienced now Caleb. They may own the sky but I will not say they are truly ready to battle on the ground! Dora said softly

If they are not, I am! I am not going to lose any one of you! Fiona said with tears falling from her eyes.

Drake and Luna eyes began to glow and they began blowing smoke through there nostrils

Careful little ones! We all know how powerful your fames are! Isabel cautioned the wergons

Then  let us find a plan that everyone could be included into because this fight is for the betterment of all of us. I suggest that it take place at my abandoned Kingdom in honor of all the lives that was taken there and where my grand babies can remain in the sky only.Lera said trying to diffuse the situation.

Yes I agree! Cain said becoming angry as he instantly remembered the massacre that took place there with the people and children.

I will go to Abraham with the warlock and dragon and inform them of the date and time for the battle, and warn the rest of the pack that they would be killed that day should they chose to fight for Abraham. Lera said

Lera, father will never release you once you are there. Are you crazy? No I will not allow that to happen! Cain stated.

Yes you will! However, I will take Caleb with me so by the time Abraham realizes what happened we will be able to use our magical abilities to disappear and Falkor can fly away. I can tell you for sure that some of the female werewolves don't like the way Abraham rules the pack but are just fearful of him! I will not be responsible for the killing of an entire clan because as mother said we will be no better than Abraham, Cain! Lera answered.

Let me come with you and Caleb then. I will be more comfortable with both of you going there only if I am present because you don't know if father has any more surprises up his sleeves like in the case of the warlock and his dragon! Cain pleaded

No Cain you cannot because we can use our magical powers to leave incase it get too dangerous for us but I won't be able to help you. That is why I chose Caleb! Lera said

Father, rest assured that I will accompany mother and protect her with my life. I possess almost the same powers as hers and I promise you that we, along with Falkor, will all return! Caleb said and looked at Dora for approval

Yes, I agree and think that it is a better option in this matter Cain to have Lera, Caleb and Falkor there! Dora said feeling confident with the three of them going and their capabilities.

Then it is settled! Lera said and got up to leave when Isabel walked to her quickly.

Lera I have a magical spell that you can use against the Werewolves that may restrain the way of life for them but it requires you to be in full control of your powers to execute it! Isabel said slowly.

Mother how dare you say such thing? You know I am always in control even though I will be finally going up against the devil himself! Lera said jokingly.

Lera kissed Isabel's cheeks and took the written paper containing the spell from her hand and read it. She squealed with delight and hugged her mother even tighter.

Thank you mother! You are truly a marvelous witch! she said

Family, listen up! Lera called out to everyone

Lera then said an incantation and a broom appeared and took her high into the sky. She came back down with full speed and stopped directly in front of them all.

I challenge anyone of you including Drake and Luna to get this ribbon from my hair. If anyone can accomplish it, then I will know that I am not ready! Lera said and smiled mischievously

Drake and Luna screeched in delight and instantly began flapping their wings.

So you're telling us that all of us including father who will ride with me cannot get that ribbon out of your hair. Caleb asked with raised eyebrows.

Yes I know so! And just to make it better I'll include Dora, Fiona and Isabel Hell call Falkor too! Lera said confidently and laughed

Ah the student wants to be the teacher now. Careful little one, do not become overly confident of yourself! Isabel said jokingly

Do we have a deal? Lera said as the broom accelerated at lightening speed into the air.

Everyone laughed and took off behind her trying to catch the ribbon. Lera felt that it had been too long since she had fun with her family. It seemed that Abraham was able to take the joy of being with her family even though he was not around. She also wanted to create a memory of all their happy faces should she not return.

They spent hours in the sky, diving, gliding and navigating between the clouds trying to get the ribbon from Lera's hair but no one could. Cain was laughing loudly and enjoying the chase on his son's back. Dora and Isabel had much experience in the sky but they were no match for Lera's swiftness. Fiona, Luna and Drake worked as a team and they came the closest to retrieving it but yet they could not.

When Lera found that they all seemed tired she descended slowly and let the ribbon fall to the ground.

Everyone laughed when they saw what she had done and went to her. When they had finally landed back at the den, Isabel went to her daughter.

I believe the student have indeed surpassed the teacher now my darling. Isabel said and handed her a necklace with a red amulet. When Lera looked behind it she saw that it was engraved,

Take control and become what you are truly meant to be my child…love mom.

 I love it mom, thank you. Lera said cheerfully

It will protect and guide you Lera so take care of yourself tomorrow okay my child. Isabel said and kissed her forehead for a long time. Nothing else was said as Isabel turned around and flew away on her broom towards the cavern.

Lera went back to the remaining family members and began playing with her grandkids until it was time for them to sleep.

You ready for tomorrow Lera? Cain asked as he looked at her intensely.

I am Cain. I am ready to finish this battle and start living a happy life with you and the rest of my family. All this killing and bloodshed have taken away my joy for far to long. I am ready to start living again!"Lera said and kissed Cain softly and they both shapeshifted into werewolves and huddled together and slept.

Early the next morning, Lera, Caleb, Alazar and Falkor was seen entering the tree line which lead to Abraham's liar. It had change drastically from what Lera had known it to be at one time. She also saw how significantly larger Abraham's pack was as she walked past several werewolves who she did not know.

Meanwhile at Abraham's cave, hundreds of werewolves from different clans gathered. There were all drinking together and was seated around Abraham and a makeshift table with stone seats, laughing and boasting about the kingdoms and villagers they attacked.

Suddenly Abraham saw them approaching and smiled when he saw the warlock and his dragon. Finally he found someone with enough magical powers to bring Lera and her family to him he thought. From afar, he assumed that the male lycanthrope was Cain but as they neared closer he saw it was not!

Warlock I see that you have delivered on your promise and so will I. I however have another deal for you with some added sugar on top! Instead of taking my soul alone, I have three volunteers who are willing to give you their souls to take my place! What say you to this offer demon? Abraham asked as three werewolves was shoved forward unwillingly.

His throat is still sore so he cannot speak! Falkor said

Yes I heard about the throat infection! Must be the change of weather. Abraham said and turned to Lera

Lera Courtenay, I was expecting you my dear! But where is my son Cain? And who is that  you have by you side? Building your own pack without Cain I see!? Abraham said with raised eyebrows

Abraham I have come here to give you an ultimatum. Lera began speaking

By the way, this is your grandson that you tried to kill, remember? Did you think that he died when we went into the river? Anyhow, I am here to let you know that I am giving you a chance to surrender. Surrender and I will spare your life and the lives of many werewolves! Lera said to Abraham as she glared at him steely eye.

Abraham and some the leaders began laughing while some remained quiet.

You and your son think you can defeat us Lera? I will never surrender to the likes of a disobedient bitch! I am surrounded by almost a thousand werewolves and a warlock and his dragon and you want to give me an ultimatum. I am the Alpha, Lera! Abraham said laughing

Caleb growled and clenched his fist and Lera heard him and held his hand

Leaders of the werewolves clan, I am Lera Courtenay an I am a half witch and my mate is Abraham's son , Cain.  I am here today giving you all the option to leave without being killed. This battle is a fight for the freedom to live in a happy, safe world where our offspring can lead the same life as us. Some of you will follow Abraham's dictatorship because of fear but today I am here to tell you that you do not have to be afraid anymore. But before I leave I need to inform you all of a treaty that came into effect several decades ago, the Cohen Treaty! This ready was signed by our ancestors who were all witches, werewolves and vampires and have always been in effect till this day. This treaty of  Old England prohibits werewolves, witches and vampires from attacking and killing each other. However since Abraham's reign, he has neglected this treaty and my castle was brutally attacked and I was harmed while he killed my father and slaughtered the people of my kingdom. Therefore, I am taking revenge against all werewolves!  Lera said and began chanting an incantation

I, Lera Courtenay from the Anglo-Cohen White Witch family curse all lycanthropes. This curse will take effect from today where all werewolves will only able to shapeshift into werewolves on a full moon and at no other time! Lera finished

Abraham's eyes opened widely as he looked at her angrily for several minutes then gold coloured dust particles began emitting from each werewolf, even from Lera and Caleb. Suddenly every werewolf completely changed into human form and began looking around and began getting scared. Lera was weak from the spell and leaned against Caleb

What are you standing there for Warlock, do something! Abraham shouted and pushed the warlock when suddenly his robe fell to the ground and a frog jumped out.

You stupid fucking witch! What have you done? Abraham screamed and he grabbed a knife and attempted to attack both Caleb and Lera but Caleb saw him and shouted

Elsuh parema tunmlir!  and a protective shield covered them.

Abraham your weakness is showing, control yourself! Lera said and laughed

But we will meet tomorrow, which is the next full moon, at the place where it all started. You will pay for what you did to my father, my kingdom and my family Abraham. Don't be late! Lera said smiling wickedly at him.

Suddenly, a large entity of sparkling light appeared in the midst of the crowd. A whirlwind began causing leaves, twigs and small rocks to scatter every where. 

Falkor fly! Lera said to the dragon and then she squeezed Caleb's hand and they both changed into sparkling particles and floated away.

The entire Lycanthrope clans panicked when Lera and Caleb left and several leaders began muttering behind Abraham's back

What is it? Speak and stop whispering behind my back! He spun around and shouted at them

Very well Abraham, because of your greed for power and control we are now cursed to live like humans until a full moon. You have involved all werewolves in this fight with this witch and her family  and have made us all pay a huge price!  I will not jeopardize my clan further in this fight of yours. One of the leaders said and a few shook their heads in agreement

Anyone who do not support me can leave right now. But let me just say that when I attack Lera's kingdom tomorrow and win, there will be a hefty price to pay for all who do not stand witht me. Abraham shouted

Several of the leaders got up and left the meeting with their clans behind them and the rest stayed with Abraham mainly because of the fear he invoked into them with his threat.

My werewolf brothers and sisters, tomorrow we will bring down Lera Courtenay and her kingdom for the last time. She took away everything from us when she just cursed us into shape-shifting only on a full moon and for that she will pay dearly! Abraham addressed the crowd and they all cheered him on.

Back at the cavern, Falkor had just flown in and Alazar called out to him.

How did it go Falkor? Alazar asked from behind the cavern's entrance

Alazar you're free from your shackles? Falkor asked amazed.

Do you think that Isabel could have captured me if I did not want her to Falkor? You've been with me quite a while my friend so you know what I am capable off! Alazar said

But why did you allow that to happen? Falkor asked confused.

Honestly Falkor, I was captivated with Isabel's beauty and wanted to know more about her. And I also saw how you looked at Dora. Alazar said smiling with a raised eyebrow.

Yes I have grown quite close to Dora, Alazar. But ... Falkor said and stopped speaking.

Falkor? But what? Alazar asked curiously.

But it seems that every time I find happiness it is short-lived and I am left with a broken heart. So this time I am afraid! Afraid for what the future holds for me and a family. Falkor said

Falkor it seems that we were destined to cross each other parts in this life and be friends. You also have a way of expressing some familiar feelings, that I have as well, to perfection. Honestly Falkor, I like Dora and I think that you will just have to live in the moment and see what happens since nothing is promised to us! Alazar said

Who are you? Seriously where is Alazar? You know the evil demon/ warlock that is always causing chaos and dangerous situations for us?  Falkor said and eyed Alazar.

Alazar, Alazar are you in there? Falkor asked getting very suspicious of the individual in front of him.

Falkor stop it. It is me, Alazar. Your pal and buddy! The warlock said smiling

So if you can escape why are you still in the cavern and not coming out to meet me? Falkor asked

Isabel spread salt around the cavern and over the entrance so I'm stuck in here unless you want to clear it for me? Alazar asked

You know that they are going into battle in a short while and could do with your help? Falkor said

I can't get involved Falkor, you know that! I already made the deal with Abraham. Alazar said softly

You can't or you won't? Falkor asked

Alazar did not answer but stared at Falkor with wide eyes.

I'll tell you what! Tomorrow when I leave to go into battle with Dora and her family, I'll clear away the path of the salt for you and you can leave if you like but I won't be joining you this time my friend. I believe that a new chapter is about to begin in my life and I want to finish the book. Falkor said and laid down to rest.

Alazar stood looking at Falkor for a long time and then turned around and went back into his position of being restrained.
