Worry

Chamberlain surveyed Carl. He took in his every reaction. Of course he couldn't tell Carl everything right now. He was just giving him something to look forward to. Hope that he could get out someday. He himself did not know everything. The easiest way to keep a secret is if only a fewer number of people are aware.

He only showed him the surface, Carl had no idea how deep it really was. He only hoped his father would not do more than he expected. He was not sure how Carl was going to take it. You might push a tiger when it's still a cub, that does not mean it would not grow or it would let you do as you please without seeking revenge.

Carl was indeed a double-edged sword. Would teaching him turn out to be harmful to him in the future. Were they arming the hand that would stab them?
