At rank 1, a warrior can use and manipulate spirit energy inside their body.

At rank 2, they gain the ability to use the elements.

At rank 3, spirit condensation takes place, and the warrior develops a unique spirit identity.

At rank 4, they can materialize the spirit as armour around their body to increase attack and defensive capabilities.

And at rank 5, they are finally able to summon their spirit as a separate conscious entity that could come and fight alongside them.

Now, the earth dragon was showing its spirit-summoning ability.

The entity it summoned was an exact copy of itself, a spirit it created from its understanding of the world.

Most spirit beasts were like that. Their understanding of the world was limited, and the spirit identity they developed would be closely related to their form.
