Chapter 23 Iron Man and Iron Overlord progress

From this day on, Tony devoted himself to the development of Mark's battle suit.

First, the steel boots were completed in five days, with the flight device being the most important component.

The steel gauntlet was the first to be suspended, as it had been completed, with only the installation of the flight device remaining. Tony then turned his attention to developing the boots.

Prior to that, research on the most crucial component, the Ark reactor, had also been completed.

Turning back to Tony, on the fifth day, the steel boots were completed, and the flight device was also installed. However, the flight device switch had to be controlled manually, and there was only one pair of boots with rudimentary connections to the Ark reactor, consisting of just a few lines.

But Tony couldn't wait to test it out.

Leon watched speechlessly, recording Tony's experiment with a video recorder in hand, while casually munching on an apple without paying much attention.

Flying just ten centimeters off the ground wasn't a big deal to Leon, but Tony was excited as it was his first experience with this type of flight. He couldn't contain his laughter.

"Here we go," Tony took a deep breath and slowly pressed the switch button in his hand.

Currently, he was only wearing the equipment on his feet, and this was the initial test of the flight feature.

"Suuush."

Tony's feet emitted a wave of air resembling an ultrasonic wave, which was a pulse of energy released by the palladium arc reactor for propulsion. Slowly, Tony began to rise into the air.

"I'm flying? I can fly? Haha!" Tony laughed uncontrollably. In reality, he had only just begun to take off, as the energy transmitted through the few simple lines connecting the Ark reactor was limited, resulting in a small amount of power in the arc pulse's air wave.

This is only because he is only fly with a pair of shoes. If he is wearing a complete steel battle suit, he will definitely not be able to fly,

As Tony has always said from the beginning. Today, his goal is only to fly ten centimeters off the ground, and it seems he's aware of his limitations.

Nevertheless, Tony does manage to lift his feet off the ground, much to the applause of Leon. Leon understands the feeling, as he too was excited when he first flew. However, Tony quickly loses control, experiencing flight for the first time, and struggles to adapt and control his direction.

Tony almost crashes into a device, but fortunately, Leon keeps a watchful eye and grabs Tony's shoulder to bring him down at the critical moment. Tony breathes a sigh of relief, realizing that his studio is filled with steel equipment that could have been life-threatening in a collision.

"You need to be more careful in the future," Leon cautions Tony, mindful of his role as a bodyguard.

In a flash, Tony starts boasting to Leon again, "Hey, Leon, did you see that? I can fly!"

Leon nods with a smile and lifts himself in the air, saying, "Yes, yes, I know, I know. You can fly. Look, I can too!"

Tony is speechless for a moment, realizing that Leon has experience with flying machines and spaceships, and even being a Superman. He must be used to it. However, Tony remains captivated by the feeling of flight, now developing it with his own enthusiasm, whereas before, he had only wanted to obtain the new technology.

Unable to contain his excitement, Tony imagines how fast he could go once he completes the full set of equipment and all the energy can be transmitted to his body. It's a different sensation than driving a sports car; Tony is hooked and starts working feverishly, hammering away.

Leon watches, knowing the hardships Tony has gone through, even though there's no cave or classic hammering sounds. But Tony, in that moment, is the Iron Man in his mind, just like in the movies. Leon nod and applaud, giving Tony encouragement and motivation.

However, the intense attention from Leon gives Tony chills and goosebumps, finding it somewhat endearing.

Leon eventually leaves and goes back to his room upstairs, enjoying a bottle of wine from Tony's cellar. At the same time, Leon keeps an eye on Obadiah. He notices that Obadiah has made significant progress in the past ten days, almost finishing the Iron Monger.

But now, they've hit a critical roadblock - none of Obadiah's scientists can replicate the palladium arc reactor. This highlights the difference between a genius like Tony and an ordinary person.

"It looks like I need to help him," Leon muses.
