She continued rapping on the wooden door, but there was no reply from the other side. Inside the room, the three commandos were busy playing cards and smoking cigarettes. They weren't expecting any company at this time of the day, and were quite annoyed by the constant knocking.
Eventually, one of them got up from his chair in annoyance. "What the hell do you want?" he shouted, darting his eyes toward the closed door.
"I...was sent here...as a welcoming gift," the girl outside replied as softly as before.
"Fold," the commando wearing the black bandana said, dropping all his cards on the table.
"What the hell, man?" the youngest in the group voiced his irritation. "You're seriously thinking about bringing that bitch in?"
"It's not every day you get a country lass as a welcoming gift," the other commando replied, taking a puff from his half-burnt cigarette. "Open the door, Keith."
