“Can we talk for a second?”
I had been sitting in the library when Rhett and Hayden came inside. There was a crackle and snap from the fire behind me, and for a moment I looked at them and said nothing, wondering what it was that might’ve put that grave expression on their face, before I shut my book and nodded my head.
The twins shared a look, like they were saying something between themselves, before they walked towards me and sat on the couch directly opposite from where I was sitting. There was a small glass coffee table in front of us that housed my tea and book after I placed it down, and I found it strange.
It’s not that I was offended by where they chose to sit, but Rhett and Hayden always chose to sit as close to me as possible. Always. So why were they sitting there now, and what was up with the look on their face now?
