Chapter 17: Another Option

The healer’s response was swift.

The little flame atop the candle roared and spat a letter out into the air. The small, sealed envelope gently floated in the air before being plucked from the air by Weaver.

They opened it and began to read, Enya and Jeremy waiting as patiently as they could for the answer.

Weaver folded the letter again, having finished, and turned to address Enya.

“They’ve agreed to come but for no small fee,” Weaver said.

“Great,” Jeremy said, “The guy’s a prince I’m sure money’s no issue.”

Weaver continued to hold direct eye contact with Enya without answering Jeremy. At first, she thought it may have been because he was a human. Though, it would have disappointed her to see Weaver hold the same prejudices as other Elves.

However, the more she stared into their eyes, the more she realized it was not that they were refusing to answer Jeremy, but that the price would not be one for Valor to pay.

“They want something from me?” She asked.
