CHAPTER 8

"Who is there.",Monesia said terrified as she opened the door.Knowning she was the only one home,she didn't know who could barge in like that.

Fear crept into her mind as she kept wondering who it was.She briskly walked down the stairs in fear of who might be there.

"Hello who is there.",she tried to hide the nervousness in her tine.She have heard stories of armed robbers robbing houses.This thought alone almost made her shiver.If it was an armed robber,she was not sure she could face him off.

As she looked for the light due to the darkness of the night,the lights suddenly went on.

"Ha!",she screamed as she hid behind the couch.After some while she peeped from behind the couch.Ti her surprise she saw her mom.

"Oh mom,it's you."Suddenly felling tricked she said,"why didn't you tell me it was you."

A young looking lady,wearing a floral dress with a messy tied bun that looked like she was Monesia's sister calmly said,"You could just easily be scared of nothing."

The lady then went to the kitchen with groceries in her hand as Monesia followed her quietly.

"Did you love the cookie.",Mina asked Monesia as she put on her apron.Monesia suddenly remembered the yummy cookie she ate this afternoon."Yes it was yummy.Why don't you bake some more?"

"Why don't you learn it,then.",Mina turned to look at Monesia.She loved to eat but didn't know how to to cook.She almost burnt up the kitchen only trying to prepare instant noodles.

"But mom,you know I.....",Mina suddenly interrupted her."Can't cook but love to eat,hmmm."

"Mom,the way you cook seems like you are performing magic.Magic isn't something everyone can learn.",Monesia grumpled and signed.

"It is not magic,it called cooking with your heart.you are gonna be a mom in the future,how will you cook for your family?",Mina questioned.

Monesia thought about that.If she was to get married ,she'll marry a man that could cook so the cooking will go to him.

"Besides I'm gonna marry a man that can cook.I'm sure if dad could cook,you won't be able to cook."

Upon hearing that,Mina expression darken.Monesia realising she said something wrong quickly apologised.

"Mom I'm sorry ,it came out suddenly."
