The fire guardian’s speech fired up the crowd. They yelled as one as they cheered up Ray and her position as the leader.
Ray did not want to disappoint them all as well so she raised the shrine and held her up. It was directly in front of Alex’s eyes and it shined a bright blue. But the silver was so perfectly blended in with that blue aura that it was impossible to tell which one shined more.
“This shrine has been a source of our people’s power. It is the proof of our god being with us. And now, it is time for us to give back to our god. The first sacrifice shall be a guardian.”
Alex watched as a person was dragged in front of Ray. The man did not struggle and he looked proud to be there.
“You are my dear guardian. But it is a pity that this is the last time we can meet like this. Do you want to say anything?”
Ray asked the lavishly dressed man and he shook his head.
