Changing the Timeline

"Jack," says Nesiara as she turned around finding Jack entering the house with Yui.

"How was the month?" asks Jack as he walks over and sits down on a chair.

"It was quite calm until the first explosion," says Nesiara as she then looked at Yui and asks, "How are the children?"

"They are fine. Jack helped me confirm that they were alright. How is Dad doing?" says Yui as she sees John sitting on the floor when Jack takes a look at them.

"He will take some time. Don't await him for dinner," says Jack as Nesiara sighs after hearing that.

"I will have to move them upstairs," says Nesiara as Jack snaps his fingers making John and Cloud disappear.

"They are on the second floor," says Jack as he then snaps again making the chair and table get to their original position.

He sits down and gives a signal for the family to sit beside him. Once everyone was seated, Jack says, "The timeline has changed because of what Abigail and John did. Your enemy will be far stronger now."

"What do you mean?" asks Kieron as he didn't know about the timeline Jack was speaking about.

"Then let him be stronger. I won't let her die," says Nesiara as Jack smiles when suddenly Aerith came down with Elmyra.

"Who will die?" asks Elmyra worried when two chairs appear behind them as the chairs moved towards the sitting group with Elmyra and Aerith on them.

"Your daughter," says Jack as Elmyra and Aerith were suddenly pale when Nesiara hits the table breaking it.

"I said it before, she won't die," says Nesiara angry as Jack smiles.

"So you would rather fight him with strength far over he normally has. You know very well why she has to die. She is the only one that can hold him at bay from destroying the planet," says Jack as Elmyra was still quite pale when not only Nesiara but the rest of the family was angry too.

"We won't let her die. We just have to seal him away so he won't come back ever again," says Nora as she gave Jack an angry stare.

"That's right. If we seal him away Aerith won't need to die and can live peacefully after everything is over," says Yui as she was quite pissed about what Jack said.

"So you won't let her die. Good," says Jack as he snapped and a staff appears in front of him before saying, "This should help you girl."

The staff floated towards Aerith when Jack says, "This used to be my sister-in-law's staff. She put it away after receiving the Sky Piercer. What she didn't know was that my mother was putting some of her magic into it."

The staff stops to shine as they could now see that on one end was a focus stone while on the other end was a blade. It was the old staff Abigail used when she was the Champion of Kirkwall just that it had twelve holes that could fit something in.

"She left it to rot so I borrowed it," says Jack as he had the staff for quite some time now.

"It's yours," says Jack as Aerith takes the staff. She didn't know why she felt nothing special from it when Jack says, "There is nothing special with the staff. Just that it will protect you at the right moment."

"Thank you," says Aerith as she holds the staff.

"Thank them. If it was my decision you would die to stabilize the timeline," says Jack as he looked at the clock and says, "I should leave for now. Keep yourself safe and Godspeed to you all."

Jack then vanishes as Elmyra was quite shocked by the whole conversation when she asks, "Who was that?"

"That's John's grandfather, John Francis Parker is better known as Jack Parker. He is Nora's teacher," says Nesiara as Elmyra was still confused by everything when Nesiara says, "How about you process everything that happened today. Tomorrow we can continue talking about everything."

"Alright," says Elmyra as she was looking quite exhausted from the conversation between the family and Jack.

"Aerith look after your mother," says Nesiara as Aerith nods and leaves the house accompanying her mother.

The family was now alone in the house when Kieron asks, "Does she really have to die?"

"Normally she is killed by our enemy. But she does it on purpose to stop him by controlling the Lifestream," says Nesiara as the children looked at her suspiciously.

"How did you know that?" asks Nora as Nesiara sighs.

"You remember that your father and I were playing a game in the Mansion right," says Nesiara as they nod when Nesiara continues, "The game was about this world. It was another timeline were Aerith dies"

"That's why you are so protective of her?" asks Yui as Nesiara smiles.

"Not really. I like her and do want for her the best even if she doesn't become my daughter-in-law," says Nesiara as Kieron turned red when Nesiara says, "Boy it doesn't have to be you. It can also be one of your sisters. But I don't force anyone here. Your father already told me that it maybe isn't even possible since she is still in love with someone else."

"But why would Dad try to change the timeline?" asks Nora as she didn't understand it.

"Your father is a big softy. He used to be the biggest Ice Cube that I know until Yui appeared in our life," says Nesiara as the children began to connect everything together.

"So Cloud is someone important as well as the terrorist group Avalanche that's why you were for them instead of being against them," says Nora as Nesiara nods.

"Normally your father is the one following the timeline to the point so only little changes appear in it. But now it seems he is doing it on purpose," says Nesiara as she was worried about John because of what Jack said before.

"So what happened with the shadows today didn't have to happen?" asks Yui as Nesiara nods.

"This is something new," says Nesiara as she didn't saw this cyclone of shadows appear in the slums of Sector 5 before.

They began to talk about that as they were quite angry to hear that. It was the life of one of their friends they were talking about not some random person they didn't know.

"Is that all traveling towards that place and kill that person why haven't we done that yet," says Kieron angry not noticing that the sky was already dark outside.

"Its because this World will need people to protect it. If we just did all the work what do you think would happen when a similar crisis happened again and we weren't there?" asks John who walked down the stairs while Cloud was resting in a bed before it was time for him to leave.

Kieron nor the other two couldn't answer that question when John says, "As I thought. Sometimes you need to think everything through. If we leave the world helpless it will die even if we saved it before. That's why your mother and I didn't fly North to take that person down in the North Crater."

John sits down on a chair beside his family and says, "That's why we normally don't change much in the timeline so the heroes of the world rise up. We might give some pointers and help them succeed. We are warriors, not heroes. Never forget that."

The children looked quite down when Nesiara says, "What your father wants to say is that we are the darkness while the others are the light. We might finish the job but don't want anything in return giving the glory to someone else."

"Then why are we fighting this fight if we aren't heroes," says Kieron angry when John's fist came towards him.

Kieron wanted to evade but the fist was to fast so he prepared for the worst when he suddenly felt a light hit on his head.

"I might have described us a bit wrong," says John as he began to think before saying, "We are heroes but not for the public but for the people we care about. Many people see your mother and me as heroes but not the entire world. We are satisfied with just some people knowing about us because if everyone knew about us we wouldn't be able to leave because people would become undependable making us stay here to deal with all their troubles."

The children slowly got the idea when Nora says, "So we are going to train the group of heroes of this world. Is that what you are saying?"

"Yes, we will help them in succeeding their mission but before we can do that they need to be gathered and trained. That's why that bastard is still alive and not under the ground or better said inside this," says John as he places a Soul Stone on the table.

"Those are used to seal souls inside. That's what your mother and I used in some worlds when Logan and Jack want us to trap a soul. We still don't know why but I doubt it for something good," says John when Nesiara smiles.

"No don't paint the world black just because we don't know it. Sooner or later we will find out," says Nesiara as she stood up and says, "How about some dinner before you three leave with Aerith and Cloud."

"Leave?" asks Yui as John nods.

"Yes, you will go with the two while your mother and I will be somewhere else. I won't be saying more," says John as he didn't want to spoil the surprise the three will be able to witness if they take their time while Nesiara fixed something fast for them before Cloud wakes up and they would be leaving. They ate as a family that night until Aerith knocked on their door.
