I miss him

Su Qianfan's POV

I woke up the next day, my feet hurts a bit but much better than yesterday. I turned back to look at Ai but she was not there. I went out of the cave and searched for her around but she was nowhere to be found so I went back to wait for her.

After about an hour, she came in with only meat hanging on a stick, hanging on her shoulder. She glanced at me, didn't say a word and began to wash the meat for cooking.

"You didn't hunt any fish for me?"

"What do you mean? Am I your slave? And I think your leg has healed so go hunt for yourself" she snapped at me

I just stared at her like a dummy. I looked at my leg and wondered if I could go around the bush with the leg.

"Can you borrow me your knife then?"

"Make one yourself"

I felt hurt with the way she treated me and I felt like crying out loud like a baby but she'd only call me helpless as usual. I left the cave and went to the river. I tried catching some fish at the river bank but it was working and I know dipping my leg in the river could infect my wound. I sat at the river bank, holding my stomach as it grumbles and thinking about how to eat for the day. I sat and watched as the fishes played happily while I grew hungrier.

I decided that I couldn't stand the hunger anymore so I stepped into the river with my wounded leg and luckily, I was able to caught five fishes and went back to the cave. I saw Ai, sitting on her bed and humming happily as she behaved as if she didn't notice my presence.

I dropped the fishes, changed the cloth wrapped on my wound and went out in search of firewood. It was easy fetching some firewood so I returned back to the cave early and started cooking. It was my first time cooking so it taste kind of awful but I had no choice than to eat it. I ate two of the fishes and left the three for tomorrow morning.

I wrapped some of my clothes over my body and was shivering really hard but Ai still doesn't care about me. After a while of waiting to the cold to subside but it was to no avail, I got up and sat beside the fire remains to warm up myself. Ai looked at me but turned to face the wall and slept. I decided that it was best if I just move on with my life. The cold later subsided and I was able to sleep.

The next day, I ate the fish remains. I sat up, leaning against the wall and cleaned my wound, it was fine to go out with without been wrapped so I took a long stick from the sticks I gathered yesterday and went out of the cave. I bet Ai was surprised that I didn't make any attempt to talk to her.

I went around the wood and luckily for me, I found the way out of the woods so I hurriedly went back to the cave. I met Ai reading a book outside the cave but I pretended as if I didn't see anyone. I went into the cave and packed all my things but I felt a hand around my waist.

Wú Ai's POV

I was surprised that Qianfan didn't even talk to me, unlike yesterday. Was I been too harsh on him? I wanted to talk to him as I watched him pick up a stick but I thought I'd look too cheap if I approach him first so I decided to watch him closer and I even stayed home so I would know when he returns.

I missed his company so much and went to sit outside the cave to wait for him. I saw him from a distance and instantly wore a serious look. He still didn't say anything to me and went inside the cave but I heard some sounds, like he's packing his things so I went inside to see things for myself. I saw him packing his things, I can't believe he's going to leave me here and I quickly hugged him around his waist.

"What is it this time, master?"

He turned to me, loosening my grip in the process.

"Why are you being so harsh? You're no longer a gentleman?"

"Stop the jokes, Ai. I'm done with that. I knew I reopened a past you didn't want to remember and I apologized to you for that but what did you do? He ignored me and took me for a fool. We might have not been together for years but I love you like I've known you for centuries. I wanted to spend this new life of mine with you but you rejected me, not only that, you did that in such a rude manner that hurts me so bad. I regret ever opening up to you about my feelings, Ai. I'm leaving and I hope we don't cross each other path in the future" he said, picked his bag and tried to leave but I held him back as tears rolled down my cheeks.

"I'm sorry for my actions towards you. I guess I let my past get the best of me. I've lost a lot, I've always been a loser but I don't want to lose you too."

"Really? I'm sorry as well but it's too late now, I'm leaving and I'm going to start a new life, stronger this time so no one can call me helpless."

"I have nothing else to say than to apologize for my actions, it wasn't intentional but if you, leaving would make you happy, then just go" I said and turned my back at him.

I rubbed my tears away with the back of my palm and waited for him to leave but instead, he came closer, hugged me from behind and leaned on my shoulder
