Caught but rescued

Su Qianfan's POV

She turned back, looked at me and hissed. She removed some knives and daggers from her clothes and began to take of her clothes. I yelled at her, telling her to stop while I partially covered my eyes but she didn't stop till she was stark naked. I backed her but I could hear the splashing of waters as she goes down the river. I picked my bag and was about leaving.

"Hey, be a gentleman. Are you going to leave a girl like me here in the woods, alone?"

"You have weapons so I assume you must be a warrior and I'm just one lazy man you wouldn't want to know so I know you'll be safe"

"Such a pervert! Are you taking advantage of the situation?"

I got enraged and turned to her. I was expecting her to get angry for staring at her but rather she flaunts her body and smiled beautiful. I shook my head and got the dream out of my head and turned back again.

"Look here, young lady. I'm not taking advantage of you nor the situation"

"Really? But you just stared lustfully at me"

"I'm sorry about that. I'll take my leave now"

"Stop it right there"

I halted as if I was being controlled by her and of course, I was. Her beauty is something words would never be enough to describe. I heard the waters splash again, I think she got out and dressed up.

"You can look at me now"

I slowly turned around and saw that she was fully clothed. She squeezed her hair gently to dry it but it was going to take forever doing that so I offered her a cloth. She smiled.

"You heed to correction faster than I think. You're now becoming a gentleman"

I don't know why but I blushed a little and totally forgot all about what I've experienced.

"Where are you headed to?"

"I have no place to call home, I sleep anywhere the night meets me"

"But you're a girl, don't you think it's dangerous?"

"I know but what can I do? I have to accept the situation and be thankful I'm alive."

We started walking through the woods again. She was good at using her dagger, she caught some rabbit and fishes, put them on a stick and tied it to her bag.

"Let's camp there tonight" she said, pointing at a cave.

I agreed and we went in. I placed my bag, looked for stones to make my bed. I brought out the remaining clothes, laid them on the ground and secured it with the stone.

"Is that where I'm sleeping tonight? You should have gotten me something more comfortable"

I looked back and laughed uncontrollably.

"What? Your bed? Who do you think I am? Your slave?"

"No, a lazy man who I'm trying to help"

"Help? Me? You are helpless and you claim to be someone's helper? You must be a joke"

She went out of the cage while I continued making my bed, soon, she came in with some fire woods. She made a fire, put some sticks through the fishes and rabbit and began to roast them. She brought out some clothes and made a bed for herself. I was waiting for the fishes to get ready so I could eat and sleep.

She took the fishes and rabbit, cut them into pieces with her knife and was expecting my share of it.

"Please, serve me mine quickly. I need to sleep "

"I don't understand you. Don't tell me you're waiting for this meal to be ready?"

"What do you mean by that? Am I not going to eat?"

"Eating from a helpless girl? You sure have no shame"

I got angry watching her eat the meal, I opened my box and ate the remains of my food and slept.

Xie Fenhua POV

I heard someone scream my name from my sleep. I jolted awake as the people shook me vigorously, I opened my eyes and it was Gāng, one of Master's guard but he happens to be my sworn enemy.

"What's wrong with you? Screaming my name isn't enough, now you have to shake me that much?"

"If only you knew the trouble you're in, you won't be spilling gibberish out of your stinking mouth"

I got enraged, got out of bed and grabbed him by the neck. He began to choke and cough so I dropped him to the ground.

"Also keep it in mind that I'm your senior here and you have no right whatsoever to talk to me in such manners. Why did you wake me up?"

"Master requests for your presence"

"Okay, tell him I'll be there in few minutes. I need to take my bath"

"He said you should come right now"

I looked at him, confused. Master has never requested for me in such manner. I wore my robe and followed him. I met the master in his chamber, he looks restless and paced the chamber for some seconds before giving me a stern look, I quickly fixed my gaze on the ground. I have never seen him this furious.

"You requested for me, master" I said, breaking the silence

"You! You dare pretend as if you don't know what's wrong?"

"I dare not pretend before you, master. I don't understand what you're saying"

"The guy that was caught yesterday, I heard you helped him when he was been dragged here so why did you release him?"

I instantly went on my knees and bowed down.

"Yes, I helped him here yesterday but who am I to release him? I don't know him so I have no reason to help him"

"You still dare lie to me? Do you know someone saw you when you were helping him escape?"

Now, I know there no way out for me but I was extremely careful yesterday, I doubt if anyone saw me.

"This is conspiracy. I never helped him"

"But we all know that you're the only one that understands English here, thus, you're the only one that can help him. Do you still want to continue to deny your crime?"

"I'm sorry, master. I didn't know what came over me"

"Take him away, starve him for two days and hit him fifty strokes of cane"

"What? Master, that's not the punishment for someone who lets our prey escape. Death is the penalty, I beseech you to be fair and upright in your judgement, master." Gāng said

"Are you the master or I am? I make the rules here"

"And that doesn't give you the right to bend the rules just because Fenhua is your favorite"

"How dare you talk to me in such manner? Lock him up in the dungeon till I decide what to do with him"
