A new master

Su Qianfan's POV

I woke up the next morning, I rubbed my eyes with the palm of my eyes and slowly opened my eyes. I turned back to look at the lady but she was no longer there, I sat up and rested my back at the wall. The fire she kindled was still warm so I stood up and sat beside it to warm up myself, some moments later, she came in.

"Where did you go this early morning?"

"How is that any business of yours?"

"Did I offend? Why are you being so harsh?"

"Just trying to stay on my lane. So, if you don't mind, go back to your bed, I want to make use of the fire"

I went back to my bed and watched her rekindled the fire and roasted some fishes. The aroma was out of this world and so tempting. I opened my box of food and it was empty, my stomach grumbled at the sight of the empty box and I swallow hard as she began to eat.

"Can I get some for you?"

She ignored the question and focused on the meal she's eating.

"I'm talking to you"

"Really? You're talking to me? About what?"

"I'm starving, can you spare me some food?"

"Are you begging for food from a helpless girl?"

"I'm sorry about all I said, please"

She grinned and served me some of the meal. I dug in immediately and all I could hear my stomach say was thank you.

"I'm going to look for a river to bath, mind tagging along?" she said after finishing her meal

"I don't want to, you need your privacy"

"Such a gentleman, I'll be back in a bit"

She left while I went back to sleep. I tried sleeping but wasn't able to sleep, I couldn't stop myself from thinking about Fenhua. I wonder what is fate is going to be if they finds out that he was the one the plotted my escape and what if they've started a search? I might be lost in this forest but I know I'm not too far from their camp.

Fear gripped me and beads of sweat began form on my head rolling down to my neck as my mind concluded that they're probably looking for me now.

I quickly packed my things, I waited for some minutes for the girl to return but she seems to be taking long so I decided it was best if I run for my life, at least, she's not being hunted like me.

I began to run and force my way through the thick bushes while some found their way into my soft body, I held in the pains and concentrated on getting out of the forest, only then, can my soul rest. Suddenly, something gripped my left leg, making me scream like never before, I would have been caught if those strange men were around. I hurriedly hid behind the bushes so nobody can see me. I looked at my leg, it was a trap, I tried loosen it but it was to no avail. I can't even believe I'm doing this, the last time I was a trap was when I was five, when the chief slaves brought it home and I scolded him for trying to make me farm, only if I had learned from him, I would have been able to loose this.

Wú Ai's POV

I took off my clothes, entered the river and was enjoying the nice bath when I heard a scream, I quickly recognized the voice. I instantly got out of the water, dressed up and traced the voice. I met four guys trying to take him away.

"Hey, what do you think you're doing?" I asked, examining my knife in a mischievous way.

"Hey, little girl, go play around." one said.

The other one came closer, patted my hair.

"You kids of nowadays, you meddle in affairs that are not yours. Shush, go away"

I kept on patting my hair as he spoke while two men held him tightly.

"I said let go of him"

The man patting my hair, gripped it so tight that I felt like my hair was going to pull off my scalp. I grabbed his hand, gave him a deep cut, twisted his hand to the back and placed the knife on his throat.

"You know, you don't mess with some kids, not especially someone like me" I whispered in his ears.

One of the men brought out a knife as well, threaten to slit his throat.

I chuckled softly.

"Who gets hurt at the end? Me or you? Well, let me give you a brief history of that man and me. We recently just met and he annoys me alone, why am I even here to save him?"

I grinned and whispered in his ears

"Tell me why I should save him? He only eats up my meat, making me short of food" I asked as I lower the knife placed on his neck.

"Tell me why I should save you?" I yelled at him

"Please, help me. I promise to be your slave and serve you forever" he said and one of the men hit his head with a gun. I hit the man I'm holding too, even harder than he hit him.

"As I was saying, we just met and not really acquainted so if I lose him, do you think that would be painful? Think about this man here, if I kill him, you'd miss him, won't you?"

I chuckled and slightly cut him with the knife .

"Now, let go of him" I said with a serious look

"Let him go, do you want her to kill me?"

They pushed him to me while I did the same.

"Now, move! Let me see you disappear"

I looked at him after they left and laughed out aloud.

"See the helpful calling me helpless? You couldn't even save yourself"

"Will you stop mocking me and remove this trap from my leg? It hurts"

I bent over and looked at him in the eyes.

"You don't talk to your master in such manner. "

I stood up and walked a few steps away from him.

"Master? Who do you think you are? Who made you my master?"
