Chapter Six To Rome she goes.

Belle's POV

Um, I'm going to have to stall. Hopefully, Rune will be back by then. If not, I didn't know anything. I walked to mom and dad's room," Dad?" He looked up from the bed he was sitting on.

I questioned," I haven't eaten yet. Are we going to soon?" Dad said," You can go ahead, Rune also. " Mom came out of the bathroom. She said," No, as punishment for what she did, she will stay in her room and not eat."

Dad responded clearly upset," Isn't that a little harsh? We can't starve her." I agree with dad. Mom stated," I don't want to but she has to know if she is bad, she will be punished." Dad looked sadly at mom before nodding.

I'll just tell them Rune ran away tomorrow - I don't think they will notice tonight. To be honest, I'm confused. Mom's mad at Rune? She's usually just mad at me. Why would she care that dad got hurt? They were just yelling and screaming at each other!

I suggested," Dad can you help me? I'll be too short to reach what I want." I actually could reach it. I just needed to talk to him without mom. He replied," Of course sweetheart."

We went into the kitchen," Dad? You know Rune didn't mean to hurt you right? She wouldn't do that on purpose. She might not act like it but she still does care about you."

Dad sighed," I know she didn't. I was just so mad that it happened that I took my anger out of her." " Do you think mom was fair to not let Rune eat?" Dad responded," No, I don't but I'm not starting another fight. "

I asked," Why do you always fight with mom? Don't you love her?" Dad's eyes widened," Of course I do Belle. All couples fight." I stated," But you guys fight every day." " You didn't want me to get something for you, did you?"

" No, I just wanted to talk to you." I fixed myself something to eat. I sat down at the dining table. Dad soon followed me 15 minutes later. " If we were never born would you and mom still be fighting?"

Dad paused what he was doing," I don't know Belle and I never want to find out. I love both of you guys. You two are my life." " What's the real reason you always yell at Rune?" Dad mumbled," It feels like I'm not talking to my daughter, feels like more like I'm talking to a counselor."

He hesitated and then continued," I'm just trying to be a good father but I always lose my temper." I added," Because you were mad at mom. " " Sweetheart - " I shook my head.

After a second of silence, I said," Why does mom hate me?" " She doesn't hate you." " She does because I'm not as smart as my sister. You can tell Rune is her favorite child." Dad said," Belle your mother loves you."

I said, as I took my plate up and put it in the sink," Dad? Are you and mom getting a divorce?" Dad said," No Belle we are not and I'll never divorce your mother. Who told you this?" I replied shortly," No one."

I paused, before I began speaking again," I know you'll never divorce mom but I'm scared you'll get in another fight with mom and she'll be the one to divorce you. Then take Rune with her."

Dad put a hand on my shoulder," That will never happen." I said as a tear fell down my cheek," Promise?" " I promise baby girl. Now you need to get ready for bed." He kissed my head, and I went upstairs.

I woke up the next morning because someone barged open my door. I groaned as a voice yelled," Belle Marie Jackson, where the heck is Rune?!" My eyes widened. Oh no - She found out Rune is missing," I don't know."

Which is the truth - I know Rune ran away but I didn't know where she went," What did you do to her?!" " I didn't do anything mother. " She kept yelling at me. Can dad not hear any of this?

Mom kept yelling as I began to slightly shake. I wish dad was here or Rune, I have no one to defend me. Mom shouted," I wish you went missing instead of Rune!" Tears were falling down my face. Before I knew it the words came out of my mouth,

"All this yelling is to be postponed for I will send you to the place called Rome."

My eyes widened. I heard mom scream and then she disappeared. What did I just do? A couple of minutes later dad came into the room. He asked," Sweetheart have you seen your mother?" I replied, trying to get my words out," S-she's in R-Rome."

Dad's eyes widened. He choked out," W-what? Do you know why?" I nodded. I spoke out softly," Rune -" He interrupted me," Rune did this?!" I tried to speak but he yelled," Rune Eli Jackson get in here!"

When dad didn't hear a response, he started walking to Rune's room. I put my hand on his shoulder which made him stop," Dad, Rune didn't do this." He questioned," She didn't?" I sighed," No."

" I did." " Belle if you are standing up for your sister you don't have to." " I'm not. Mom barged into my room yelling at me. She said something that really hurt my feelings and before I knew it I spoke a rhyme."

I said, after a pause," I think it's a new power." Dad said," What did she say that made you so upset?" I said softly," She said that I should be missing instead of Rune." He said," What are you talking about?"

I sighed," Dad, Rune ran away last night." His eyes went super wide. He yelled at the top of his lungs," WHAT?!"
