Chapter 15

"Test takers top 2,101 to 2,103 please step in the middle of the field, the other test takers please give them some space," the moment Celeste gave her instructions, Angela and the two other test takers walked towards the middle of the field, while Kai, Nathan and all the others walked backwards towards the sides of the field.

The moment that all the other students we're on the sides of the field, and two boys and one girl remained in the middle, Celeste shouted "Up!"

The field suddenly shook and the earth suddenly opened up, which made the students fall, the fall however isn't very deep, because something caught them all and pulled them up again, higher than their previous positions.

An arena was set up in seconds, with the audience's seats at the side of it. The stage in the front was gone and Celeste was now in the arena in the middle with the other three test takers. The elephant fairy's eyes then glowed once more and four large screens facing the audience's stands appeared on top of the arena, showing what is currently happening in the arena.

Even though Kai is fascinated with the capabilities of the elephant fairy, he is more worried about his friend, he knows how much she worked just to enter the same school as himself and Nathan. The truth is, Angela is not as smart as the two of them so she focused almost all of her attention on how to improve her battle strength more. That is the reason why her test score is so low.

Kai then remembered that he can just look at the statuses of Angela's opponents to know their strength. The moment he looked at their statuses, he was relieved because the Muscle Stag and Blaze Beetle that her opponents have is no match for Skye.

"The three of you, leave your pets and step out of the arena and wait just behind the boundary of the arena," Celeste instructed the three, which they followed dutifully. "The ones that are disqualified can stay and watch all the battles that will happen today, but tomorrow onwards, you are no longer allowed to go back to our school, you can stay in the city for the next one week, but will be chased out once the week is over."

"You three will have a three way battle and whoever won will be the last contestant to enter the next elimination round. Ready?" Celeste said, then prolonging the word a little giving some time for the three contestants to ready themselves.

"Go!" - Celeste

The moment the two other contestants heard the word Go, the Muscle Stag charged towards the Blaze Beetle, while the Blaze Beetle spewed fire on the charging Stag.

When Angela saw her opponents disregarding her, she was pissed. She however understood why, because even though Skye is a bit different when compared to her species, she is still a Healing type beast, and is not known for their battle strength. Many in the audience also approved with the decision of the two guys in the arena, leaving the weakest for last.

After a few more seconds, Angela's patience finally snapped and 10 Light Missiles instantly appeared above her and not even a second later, the two opposing beasts was punctured, five holes in each of the two beast's bodies seen by everyone in the arena.

The moment the Light Missiles suddenly showed up and punctured the two opposing beasts severely injuring them, the audience was silenced, shocked by what just happened and the speed at which the Light Missiles traveled. They never expected a Light Magpie, who was a Light attributed Healing type beast to utterly dominate the opponents. The 101 others that were fighting for the remaining spots however became wary of her.

"Wonderful! I like the unexpected! Remember this you pipsqueaks, never underestimate your opponents even if they are only Healing type, because you never know what their capabilities really are!" - Celeste

Even though Angela wanted to heal her opponents after the fight, she couldn't reveal that Skye is also a sound attributed beast, it would lessen her chances of winning future battles.

"Angela Minaro, you are still qualified to take the last two places! You can now step down and go to your friends." Celeste added, while everyone on the audience's stands clapped.

Angela apologized to her still dazed opponents then walked across the bridge that appeared, leading towards the audience's stands. When Angela reached her two best friends, Kai and Nathan suddenly hugged her.

"I told you, you can do it. You're one step closer now. You can do it!" - Kai

"I feel sorry for your opponents, look at how lifeless they still are. Hahaha! Serves them right for underestimating you." - Nathan

"Thanks guys," Angela said then sat at the seat reserved for her by the two of them.

"Now that that's settled, I now call upon the test takers top 1,999 to 2,002, come on up on stage!" the moment she called for another set of test takers, 4 amongst the audience stood up, each having varied emotions, nervous, determined and many more. Four bridges once again appeared and the four contenders walked on the bridge that appeared in front of them.

When the four reached the arena, Celeste arranged them herself. "You four don't need to be nervous, none of you will be disqualified in this battle," when the four heard what she said, they were all relieved. "But! Two of you will be given an advantage in the upcoming official elimination rounds," when the four heard that two of them is gonna get an advantage in the upcoming eliminations, they all became determined to take that place.

"Ready? Go!" - Celeste

Unlike what the crowd expected, which was a full on battle the moment they are good to go. The four contestants all stood still, studying their opponents more carefully, learning from the mistakes of the first two before.

"Kai, who do you think will win?" Nathan asked, trusting the intuition of their beast expert.

"The one that will win? The small red rat. I'm sure of it," Kai responded a moment later, which earned confused gazes from his two friends, because it is the smallest out of the four beasts on the stage.

When Kai saw his friends doubting him, he was a bit upset. "What, don't believe me? That small red rat is an Epic grade Blood Lord Rat, the reason why it's still standing still is because it's still biding it's time to have perfect control of the other four beast's blood, the moment it achieves that, the battle is over".

When the other two heard that, they were shocked, looking at how tiny and cute the rat is, they never expected for it to have such an OP skill. Even though it needed a minute or more of time to perfectly control the other beasts isn't very good, it also means that if it decided that it doesn't want perfect control of its opponents, it could just stop their movements for a second or more, and within that second a lot can happen.

A few seconds later, the rat and it's owner dropped their facade, the owner is even smirking at his competitors. When the other three saw his smirk, they were very confused, but before they could react their beasts suddenly ran towards each other, as if they are puppets being pulled on a string. The two beasts then teamed up against the Fire Bull injuring it slowly, because the two that were attacking - Haste Cat and Night Owl were Support and Scout types respectively, while the pitiful Fire Bull just stood there and can't move, the only thing it can do is voice it's pain.

After a few more minutes of torture, the bull finally caved in and collapsed, the other two beasts then fought each other, then the Scout type beast won. However, before it can even stand up, it was jumped on by the Blood Lortd Rat and collapsed from it's Blood Strike.

"See that? Don't you dare doubt me ever again." - Kai

"Yeah, he is very strong, however I don't like how he fights," for Angela, the torture on the Fire Bull is unnecessary, the Blood Lord Rat could have made it collapse faster.

"Maybe, he is still hiding a stronger skill, and doesn't want to show it off just like you Angela, you should be more wary of him," Kai said, knowing that Angela doesn't have a chance once the Blood Lord Rat uses its Bronze skill. She wouldn't be able to win against him, the only way she can win is to make Skye breakthrough Bronze and hope that whatever skill she obtains will ensure that Angela will take one of the last 2 spots in the 2,000.

There is also another way, which is letting her know about her talent, revealing his secret ability in the process.
