Hell Hound

Kore stood there proudly with the hunt he had just finished. Now he just needed to deal the finishing blow and everything was over. At least, that was what he thought. The bear's arms started shaking violently, and all four of them loosened from the body. Kore, reacted quickly, and rushed to them and stabbed one, but the rest of them were already at the legs of the bear and started pulling the leftover legs out and implanting themselves. The bear itself now had no arms on its sides to attack with, but it was able to stand up again. Kore himself didn't rush in as it now stood and maybe had another card up his sleeve. The bear also just stood there looking at Kore, maybe thinking about its next move.

When the monster started moving its legs, Kore was already on its way to dodge, but he saw it not attacking but running away. It seemed like it had come to the conclusion that it had no chance of winning now. After all, it had no arms to attack. If it used its leg-arms, then it would fall and get killed by Kore. It definitely seemed like a rather smart monster.

The problem Kore had now was that his movement was slowed down a lot due to the hole in his foot. Kore tried to throw the knife at the monster, but it simply stuck in its back without getting it to fall. ´Shit!´ Kore thought. ´Give me at least my knife back!´ He had no chance to catch up to the bear, and if he could, he would most likely have problems with his knife sticking in its back. Kore had given up all hope of ending his hunt when a system message appeared in front of him.

Quickly, Kore went down on one knee and took out the egg, which was moving on its own.

The top of the egg fell off, revealing a black little dog. It looked like it had really soft fur. Its eyes had a blood red color. It didn't seem that dangerous at first as it had its tongue out looking at Kore, but knowing what it was, made the whole matter completely different. Kore heard stories about Hellhounds back in his world and in the world he was in now. They all sounded pretty terrifying, and here one of them served him. He even had the chance to name it. Still, that wasn't what he had to think right now.

"Can you catch that spider bear right there?" Kore asked the hellhound, pointing in the direction the bear ran to. The hellhound looked back and rotated its head by 180 degrees. When it did that, it jumped out of the shell and ran in the direction Kore pointed to. The bear was already in the darkness, but he was sure the hellhound would be fine as there was a small field of flames appearing under its feet with every step it took.

The hellhound vanished in the darkness, and a sudden and loud scream appeared. It sounded like the bear ones, so Kore too ran in the direction of it at his own pace. Getting there, he saw the hellhound sitting there patiently waiting for its master as the legs of the bear had completely turned to ash. There was a lot of fur on it, but he didn't imagine the fire to be this strong. Still, it could be that the bear just had a natural weakness to fire but that he would figure it out the longer he had the hellhound as his support.

The bear was still alive as the orders of Kore were only to catch the bear. It did so by burning its legs, maybe due to knowing Kore wanted to kill it anyway, but if it didn't, this method was just barbaric.

Kore stood there looking down at the bear as a smile spread across his face without noticing. He saw the knife laying there on the ground and grabbed it. After that, he started stabbing the bear until the usual message appeared in front of him.

Seeing the messages, Kore had another choice he needed to decide on.

Thinking about it, Kore wasn't hurt enough for him to not be able to walk back. He would have liked to continue his hunting, but it wasn't like the dungeon would run away, and he thought an extra stat point would be what he needed most right now after such a hard battle.

The same sounds as before appeared, and once again a puddle appeared under the monster. The only difference was that the hellhound there looked fascinated by what was happening right now. Kore didn't want to stay there while the gates to hell were open. That's why he walked away and the hellhound followed him, seeing him going away, back in the direction of where they came from. From the back, a ball of light followed Kore and quickly caught up with him, going inside his back.

He didn't pay much attention to the system, as one stat point wouldn't change much anyway. Instead, he tried to think of something different. Something really important. A NAME FOR HIS DOG!

Thinking about the hellhound and its abilities, there was one name that came to his mind. "Flames" Kore said, with a weird smile, looking at the Hellhound. "Do you like the name?" The Hellhound just barked and a system message appeared in front of Kore.
