Chapter 2: The System.

I had my eyes shut very tightly, I really don't want to open them for fear of what I had seen. But sadly I had to open them. When I opened my eyes finally, all I saw was pitch back nothingness. It almost felt like my dream I had in the morning, when I was floating in nothingness. The problem though this time was I wasn't asleep, I was awake.

"What the hell happened??"

"Where am I??"

While talking to myself, I felt this tug on my right shoulder. It was weird, I turned to where I was being tugged but I didn't see anyone there at all.

"Who's there??"

Nothing. No sound or voices was heard except mine. This is too weird. . . .

All of a sudden I felt like I was falling and couldn't stop myself. I felt like I had been falling for over 15 minutes, but yet it also felt like I had just started falling at the same time.

"Soo, I'm currently falling and I can't do anything about it. I wonder how lon---"

[You are now entering into the System's Mainframe]

What the fuck?? Where are the words coming from??

The next thing I saw was complete and utter white glow, that was so blinding that I had closed my eyes due to the pain it had caused. After a few minutes I decided to open my eyes. It had taken me a few moments to let my eyes adjust but once they did my eyes were opened very wide. I had never seen a room like this before, it was completely all white. Everything was white not just the chairs or desk. During this time someone had walked up to be right behind me and patted my shoulder. I froze the moment something touched me, it felt really cold and awkward. I decided to turn around and look at the person or thing that decided to touch my shoulder. I was quite surprised to see the very same lady that was at the comic con earlier.

"You!" I said to her.

"I told you I would see you again." The lady said while smiling.

"Who the hell are you!!??" I yelled at her.

"I will explain that to you, if you calm down and go sit in the chair over there." She said while walking towards the desk with the two chairs. I decided to try and calm myself down, and then walked towards the chair she had pointed to.

"Ok. I'm calm now, so explain to me where I am and who exactly you are. . ." I calmly stated.

"Well first off, you are currently in something I call the System's Mainframe. The System's Mainframe is a place where mortals like yourself go to after you pass away and are selected for revival." She calmly said after she sat down.

"As for who I am, that pertains to you actually. In the world I'm just a system, but at the same time I control everything until I'm merged with someone. After I merge with someone, the world will start to change." She said to me.

After she mentioned that to me, I had to sit there and wonder exactly what she meant by that.

"What do you mean by---" I started to say until she interrupted me.

"Let me stop you there first. Would you like to find out how you had gotten here in the first place?" She asked.

"Uhh. . . Sure. . ." I hesitantly stated.

All of a sudden multiple holes opened on the wall behind her. What came out of the holes was actually just plain tvs.

"Wha--" As I was about to say something, she held up her finger to her mouth and shushed me.

What happened next was the tv the left of her turned on and it was odd. I was on the tv but it was from before I blacked out. It was of me getting off the bus at the bus station and walking towards the intersection. What I saw next made me throw up right there in the chair. I had just watched myself get ran over by a truck. I didn't even get time to figure out what the noise was. Afterwards it kept on going, the police, fire trucks, and ambulance show up not too long afterwards. Then i started to turn pale because I saw a woman running up to the scene that looked exactly like my mother.

"I. . . Is that m---" I started to stamper.

"Yes it is" She simply stated.

I stared at her for a moment until she pointed up at the screen. My mother had just reached the scene of the crash, and she was completely out of breath. She started yelling at the cops until one of them grabbed her arms and looked at her. I don't know what was said, but the look on my moms face was utter disbelief. She wanted the cop to let go of her, but the cop wouldn't. She had tears running down her face and she collapsed on the ground right then and there. The driver of the truck actually noticed my mom and decided to walk towards her. He said something to her and she looked up and nodded her head, but that was it.

"So that is what had happened to you Jason." The lady calmly stated.

At the time I looked at here with completely ashen face and dead eyes. I had tears running down my face that I didn't even know where there.

"I want to send her a message!" I told her.

"I'm sorry, but I ca---" She started to say.

"I don't care if you can or can't. I'm going to send her a message! You was in my world to begin with! You can go back and give her a message!" I started to yell at her for no reason.

"Fine. I will go there, but only once. This is a one time deal that I will do only for you." She said to me while looking at me with anger in her eyes.

I quickly wrote down a letter for my mom with a pencil and paper that was on the desk. While I was at it, I had a thought and wrote down a second one also.

"I need one more favor from you and that is it. After that I'll do whatever you want me to." I said to her in a rush.

"What is it." She calmly stated.

"Deliver one to my best friend Devin. The one you saw me with at the comic con." I told her

"Ok, it is done." She said

"Wait what? You didn't even leave!" I yelled at her.

"Calm down and just watch the screen." She told me.

I decided to take her advice and turned towards the screen. What I saw next was a lady that looked exactly like her walk out of nowhere towards my mother. She tapped on my mom's shoulder, and whispered something to her while handing her the first note I wrote. My mom looked at the lady in complete shock and tore open the letter. She started to read it and started shaking, but she had a slight smile on her face this time. Then the screen went black. The middle tv just happened to turn on, and it was at a house I recognized. It was Devin's house! Then I saw the same lady walk up to the door and ring the doorbell. At first, no one rushed to the door, but then it suddenly opened. There was a man standing there talking to the lady, then he turned around, and yelled something. The next moment a boy ran up to the door, and said something as the man walked away. I recognized the man and the boy instantly. It was Devin and his father! I turned towards the lady again, and all she did was point towards the screen. So I looked back up to the screen, and saw the lady talking to Devin. Only this time Devin was the one looking pale again, and he looked at the lady, but this time he was able to talk. The lady reach into her pocket and retrieved the second letter I had written and handed it to him. When Devin grabbed the letter he looked down and I could tell he recognized the handwriting just by the look on his face. He ripped open the letter and started to read it. When he was down he looked up to where the lady was standing, but he was shocked. She was no longer there, he ran out to the yard and looked around but there was no one nearby at all. That is when the second tv went black and the lady started to say something to me.

"Like I said, it is done." She stated to me calmly.

"Thank you, I really appreciate this. So before we get started, what is your name? You have yet to tell me." I decided to ask her.

"To be honest, I don't actually have a name. I'm just the system." She stated.

"Well I've got to call you something don't I??" I asked her.

"Hmm, well you could just give me a name if you want to, but before that you have to choose if you want me to stay as a female or transform as a male." She pondered for a moment and decided to tell me that.

"Uhh. . . Ok. Umm. . . Stay as a female and let me think of a name for you." I decided to tell her.

"I think I will name you Zoe." I decided on her name after a few moments and told her it.

"Then I will be known as Zoe from now on!" She exclaimed!
