THE DEAL

Chapter forty-four

Henry

Beatrice's face registered shock but it was only for a few minutes, " Why haven't you said anything? And why did you have to call her back? We've agreed that she could go on her way."

" And what if she did? When she did, what did that cause us?" I sit properly to be able to look her in the eyes, " And you gave me the heck of troubles! I had to visit the polices. Do you even know where I went to just to find Hattie?"

" I couldn't go to work. My parents thought I chased her out. Gosh! Do you know how much I faced?" I give them a dirty glare.

And that I think about it, maybe I should have informed the public of what I found.

" All this while, you acted so innocently. You joined me in finding your daughter. Meanwhile, you knew where she was."

" You made me marry a nobody and pretended so innocent?" I feel the anger rise. Something I have been trying so hard to keep in check.
