Obstacles

Evander practically threw me into the car, slamming the door behind him. I'd never been so scared in my life. It was only the first day and I already made him lose his temper.

His eyes were black as night when he snapped Brad's neck. Granted I was angry with the young boy, but I didn't want him dead.

I couldn’t help but think, about what would have happened if Evander had not shown up. My skin began to crawl as I relived Brad’s hand on me.

My mind came back to the here and now when Evander jumped in the driver’s side, slamming his door as well.

The entire crowd who witnessed everything just stood around looking at the car drive away. I was shocked to see what just happened didn’t break up the party. The music started again as we pulled out of the driveway.

What's more surprising is no one did anything to stop him. They just watched as Evander handed down a death sentence. Without question or pleading, they just watched and accepted it.
