Why Aren’t You Dead?

Mu Ye and his group turned pale drastically.

With so many Brown Striped White Tigers, even if the elders of the clan came, they might not be able to deal with them! They were trapped here, and it looked like there was only death left for them!

Mu Ye was still clutching the Yuan Core in his hand. A moment ago, this had been enough to fill him with pride, but at this moment, he was only filled with endless regret! He wanted to throw it as far as possible immediately!

However, even if he did that, it was unlikely that this group of Brown Striped White Tigers would spare him!

"Big Brother, w-what do we do?!" 

Mu Ye looked over abruptly. How the hell was he supposed to know?

Every year, the Mu family would conduct their family trial at the edge of Nine Foot Mountain Range, but the targets in this area usually comprised Tier 1 primordial beast, and it was rare that anyone would end up like them, encountering a Tier 2 beast on their first fight!

Mu Ye and his group had little experience, so they didn't know that Brown Striped White Tigers moved and lived in packs! To kill one meant to provoke their entire colony!

In retrospect, Mu Linghan had been the one at the front of their group since the beginning of the trial, so it was him that had led Mu Ye and his group into such a dangerous place!

Mu Qinglan was a little surprised at Mu Ye's accusation. "Huh, it seems like you do have some brains after all." 

Mu Ye was this close to spitting out blood in his rage.

"Hmph, you're together with us, and there are so many Brown Striped White Tigers surrounding us, so you can't escape either! If we're going to die… We'll die together!" Mu Ye exclaimed in a fierce manner, his eyes bloodshot as he looked at Mu Qinglan.

He didn't believe that Mu Linghan wanted to die here!

During their exchange, the Brown Striped White Tiger had been completely overwhelmed by grief and anger, and with a deafening roar, it pounced towards Mu Ye and the others!

Damn these people! Damn them all!

Mu Ye and the others were so shocked, they could only move in panic!

However, as soon as one white tiger moved, the rest of them also followed immediately!

"Save me! I don't want to die!" 

The youth clearly knew that he was on the verge of life and death, so naturally he was desperate and called out for help, wanting to live.

He sent out a blast of Yuan Energy, but it had little effect!

Mu Ye's eyes flashed, then he took two quick steps forward and stabbed his sword towards the white tiger that was tearing the youth apart!

The Brown Striped White Tiger was forced to retreat, but before it did, it immediately bit down on the youth's thigh, tearing it from him!

The youth almost fainted from the pain and could only look at his bloodied thigh through tears and sobs.

However, he also knew that preserving his life was already a good thing, so he turned to Mu Ye with gratitude.

"T-Thank you, Big Brother. I…" 

Before he could finish speaking, he saw a flicker of viciousness in Mu Ye's eyes, and an uneasiness spread through him.

And the direction the youth was thrown at was the place with the most Brown Striped White Tigers!

Mu Ye had actually thrown that person into the group of white tigers in order to save himself!

However, Mu Qinglan wondered what Mu Ye's reaction would be if he knew that she had deliberately attracted all the Brown Striped White Tigers that were here right now?

Mu Qinglan's lips curled up slightly, and she once again plucked a leaf, turning over the tender green in between her white, slender fingers.

As for the others, the number of Brown Striped White Tiger were just too many, and in less than a blink of an eye, they pounced once more!

Mu Ye gritted his teeth and retreated!

The few others who saw this naturally also turned to escape, but their legs were weak from fear, and their speed was inferior to Mu Ye's.

"Ahhh!" 

Soon, two more people were dragged into the group of tigers and instantly torn apart.

Mu Qinglan had lost interest by now, as there was something more important that she had to do.

With this in mind, she turned around and placed that last leaf in between her lips and blew gently…

A bright, dazzling sound echoed through the forest!

Mu Ye turned his head back abruptly, but found that the thin and slender figure had gradually gone further away!

"Have a good time, guys!" A voice that seemed to be laughing came from afar.

Damn it!

A strong gust of wind blew!

Mu Ye didn't care about anything else and hurriedly turned around and swung his sword to cut down whatever it was!

At this rate, he would die for sure!

His bloodshot eyes slowly looked at the few remaining people who were wounded…

Mu Qinglan said breezily, "It's not necessary for me to personally take any action to deal with these kinds of people."

A white figure that looked like a ghost came flying right at her!

Mu Qinglan felt her heart almost stop beating, and she narrowed her eyes slightly. This was a very strong person, if this person were to make a move against her… Then, she would not give him a good time either!

Yet as it got closer, Mu Qinglan was shocked to realize that it was actually two people!

"Who's sneaking around there?!" A loud shout rang out, followed by an overwhelming pressure!

Mu Qinglan held her breath and slipped a dagger quietly into her palm, then stabbed outwards ruthlessly—

"Mo Yu, stop," a cold voice suddenly spoke.

The strong gust of wind and pressure abruptly came to a halt.

Mu Qinglan also paused, her dagger still in hand. A trace of doubt seeped into her heart, but when she saw a white figure walk out from behind the other figure, she was taken aback.

It was a teenager.

The figure was tall and clothed in white robes and a jade belt. The material of the robes was pure white and smooth, and the cuffs and neckline were embroidered with auspicious golden clouds. Long, dark hair spilled onto his back and glowed with a faint luster, as though the strands had soaked in moonlight. He had a pair of dashing eyebrows on his face, and the color of his eyes was jet black, and his slender eyelashes casted a shadow beneath his eyes. The bridge of his nose was straight and sharp, like the endless peaks of beautiful mountains, while the lines on his cheeks were a perfect arc like spirits dancing under the moonlight as it reflected the moonlight and the shadow of dusk.

The only bright color on his face was his scarlet lips which were a little warmer, vaguely reminiscent of petals that have almost faded in the late spring. Although the color of it was pale, it brought forth a more ambiguous feeling when one looked at it.

The heavens seemed to have gathered all the charm in the world in the body of this teenager, and his eyebrows were raised slightly. His eyes were swirling in what seemed like a storm of snowflakes with flickers of colors. Then, all of a sudden, the colors disappeared and only a pair of bright, clear eyes remained, one that anyone should not gaze into.

He was dressed in quite a simple attire, and just by standing there was enough to make the scenery around him fade in an instant.

The mottled sunlight fell on his magnificent face, and his inky eyes were deep like an abyss which was hard to escape from.

For a moment, he stared at Mu Qinglan, and it felt like there was coldness emanating from him.

"Mu Linghan?

"Why aren't you dead?"
