The realm of dragons (8)

[ Seraphina's POV ]

I needed to be smart about our situation.

Kiera depended on me, and Zethu wanted me to rescue her from this hellhole. The truth was that the more I found out about this realm, the less I was confident that I could achieve my goal and leave unscathed.

If I ended up trapped in this wretched place, Duke would be devastated and furious – maybe not in that order. And if my father found out that a bunch of overgrown lizards cornered me, I wouldn't hear the end of it.

Calm down, Serina. You can do this.

First, I needed information.

Kiera – I knew she was listening to my thoughts – can Zethu be trusted?

The little dragon snorted. 'No one can be trusted. But she smells of fear and… hope.'

Well, at least she didn't smell of backstabbing.

"You said Grosk didn't hire flying mounts. Do they exist in this town?" I asked Zethu.
