Duke is back

Author's note: this is from Seraphina's point of view

---

Footsteps sounded louder than usually from the otherwise silent hallway, and I gripped the armrest of the sofa chair while holding my breath. I tried to figure out if that were two or three men walking, and if there was a four-legged animal in there, but it was impossible to hear anything because of the wild heartbeats that filled my ears.

Ash appeared at the door, and I held my breath in anticipation of the next figure. It was Sergio.

I couldn't read their expressions, so I anxiously looked at the door and hoped with all my might that it won't be an animal. Or what if things went wrong and something happened to Duke? Where was he?

My heart somersaulted when a third figure appeared at the door and I bolted to my feet to greet the most handsome man on the planet who wore only sweatpants, giving me a breathtaking view of his muscular torso.
