Dealing with the tension

Author's note: this is from Seraphina's point of view

Duke was not excited about the idea of forming a pack. I understood his point completely, but I saw our situation differently.

We needed staff. And not just any staff, but a capable one that could do more than just house-related chores, and who would be better for that than werewolf warriors that served under the famous Damiano Testa?

Each of them had speed and strength that humans couldn't match, they became deadly hunters by shifting into their wolf forms, and they also had unique skillsets that ranged from decapitating people, fixing engines, to baking an apple pie.

Duke's bloodline would assure they were loyal to us, and considering all the dangers we were facing that included (but were not limited to) the Council, Hunters Association, hooded creatures, rogues, and probably many more I didn't know about… it would be fantastic if we could have a bunch of trained werewolves on our property.
