An army worth having

Author's note: this is from Zoe's point of view

I returned to the main villa with Luca and Ash, and we shifted into our human forms.

Luca was quick to put a robe over me and tie it up so that Ash couldn't see too much of my skin. After confirming that Ash had shorts on, Luca allowed me to look that way.

Luca was overprotective, but I couldn't blame him. If that was his ex standing there, I wouldn't have much tolerance either.

"Thank you for cooperating, Ash," I said.

He frowned a bit. "You are talking like I'm an outsider."

'He is an outsider!' Luca growled, and I was pleased he said it through our mind-link, only for me to hear.

"That's not what I meant," I said. "You didn't know what I would do, yet you still went with it."

Ash cocked an eyebrow at me. "Is that your ability? To freeze people?"

"Not exactly," I said mysteriously.
