CHAPTER 12 : MAGIC LEVEL 0

Myro took the book and looked at it. The book had a dark brown cover and the front read "Basic Witch Knowledge". Myro opened the book and read its contents. The book contains knowledge about apprentice wizards. Including being informed by Shar earlier that a person would be considered an apprentice wizard if at least that person possessed a mana sphere consisting of a thousand strands of mana.

After turning the page again, Myro was finally nearing the end of the book. Myro looked very happy when he arrived at the end of the book because there were several magic spells. An apprentice wizard could only cast level 0 spells and the higher the apprentice wizard's level the stronger the level 0 magic he could cast. Magic spells are divided into 10 levels from level 0 to level 9.

Apprentice magicians can only use level 0 magic spells and if they manage to become junior magicians then they can only use some magic above level 0. In this book there are only 5 level 0 magic spells consisting of fire, water, darkness, wind and light elements. . At least this book can be useful for Myro to learn fire and light magic spells level 0 while for water, earth and wind magic spells, Myro can't use it because he is not compatible with these elements.

The level 0 spell for fire magic in the magic book is very simple "Fireball". As the name suggests, fireball magic is where the magician converts his mana into magic and takes the shape of a ball then throws it and will cause an explosion. The more skilled the magician and the more mana possessed by the magician, the fireballs that are raised will have more and more numbers and will be stronger.

As for the level 0 light magic in the book it is called "Small Healing Magic". As the name suggests, this magic is useful for healing wounds but only on minor injuries. If one was seriously injured such as losing a limb or being attacked in the vital organs then this small healing magic would no longer be of any use. Myro decided to learn this magic as well. Although it can only heal minor injuries, this magic can be very useful in certain conditions.

To begin with, Myro read the technique of using level 0 fireball magic first with great concentration. In the book it is written that in order to use fireball magic, a fire elemental mage must remove some of the mana they have in their body first then when the mana has been successfully removed it needs to be stabilized so that the mana does not disappear immediately. When the mana is stable, the magician will try to turn the concentrated mana into fire and then stabilize it again so it doesn't explode and injure himself. For magicians who are new to fireball magic, it is recommended to cast their spell first because if they cast the spell then the mana used will be easier to turn into a fireball and will be more regular.

This book also advises wizards to use a magic wand in practice. After all, magic wands can help magicians make magic much faster and stronger. The better the magic wand used, the more powerful the magic will be. Therefore, to practice in using a magic that is not yet understood, it is better to use a magic wand at first which can help to practice faster. However, Myro didn't have a wand at all at the moment so Myro had to practice using magic without the help of a wand.

In this book it is also explained that magic wands also have elements. The element in the wand depends on the material used to make the wand. If the material used to make a wand is made from the core of a fire-type monster, then the wand will be of the fire element. Magic wands can only help the power of magicians who have the same element. So fire-type wands can only help fire-type mages to cast magic. If another elemental mage such as an earth elemental mage used a fire elemental wand then it would be useless, a fire elemental mage's wand would not give any earth elemental mage any advantage if using it. Therefore, it is necessary to have materials that match the elements possessed by a magician in making magic wands.

But for advanced magicians, they don't cast spells anymore. Because casting spells, will make the magic used to be slower and easier for the enemy to know. So they used magic without the need to cast which was much faster than having to cast spells.

After reading the book, Myro started putting it away again and sat down immediately. Myro closed his eyes and felt the presence of mana in his body. Myro could see that at the center of his current body was a collection of mana strands flowing in an orderly fashion in the shape of a ball. Myro began to slowly try to drain some of the mana strands out of his body. However, the mana strand didn't obey Myro and instead returned to the mana ball. Myro sighed and said in his mind "It seems that it will still take a long time just to practice removing some of the mana from the body".

Myro continued to practice many times to move some of the mana strands out of the body. After hundreds of trials, when some parts of the mana strands were approaching his hand and were about to come out, the mana suddenly stopped and returned to the mana ball. Just as Myro was disappointed, he realized that there was still a strand of mana in his hand and immediately moved out of Myro's hand. The mana strand managed to escape, but after the mana strand came out, the mana strand immediately shook and disappeared. Seeing the missing mana strand, Myro wasn't disappointed but he was very happy because he managed to remove the mana strand from his body even though it was only one mana strand.

In the midst of the excitement, Myro wanted to try extracting another strand of mana. But when he wanted to try, Myro immediately felt his body felt very tired and immediately fell on a pile of grass. Myro immediately felt shocked and opened his eyes slowly. He tried to sit up but soon felt his head was so dizzy that he had to lie down again. Myro immediately said filled with confusion "What exactly happened?".

At that time from the shadow of the darkness of the night, a figure appeared who immediately approached Myro and helped him to stand. Seeing the figure, Myro immediately knew that it was Shar. Because Shar helped him to sit up, Myro started to get up from his lying position and sat down with great difficulty. After Myro sat down, Shar immediately gave Myro a pouch. Seeing the bag Myro took while saying "What is this? Water?".

"Yes, young master. You are currently exhausted from running out of mana. You have been training for more than 5 hours so I advise you to rest and sleep. Here is the clean water I took from the hot air balloon earlier", said Shar.

After hearing Shar's words, Myro immediately opened the lid on the leather pouch and drank the water inside. In this world there are no drinking bottles, so most people use water bags to store clean water to drink. After drinking the water, Myro felt refreshed and he could indeed see that by now the sky was very dark, maybe it was midnight.

Myro immediately said while giving Shar the water bag "Thank you, Shar. Okay then I will sleep first now".

Shar immediately took the water bag and nodded then said "Yes, young master. You'd better get some rest. I'll take care of the surroundings so you can rest".

Like before, Shar's figure immediately disappeared again like it had never been there before. After seeing Shar had disappeared, Myro started to lie down on the grass and said in his mind "Tomorrow I will train even harder", then Myro slowly started to fall asleep due to exhaustion caused by running out of mana in the previous training.
